Wujek Garmin dziś ambitnie — próg 2 × 8 minut. Plan jasny, tempo w okolicach 4:45/km, konkretna robota. Problem w tym, że soleus jeszcze delikatnie daje o sobie znać, więc bieganie na siłę nie miało sensu. Trening miał być zrobiony mądrze, nie na ambicji.

Uncle Garmin came up with a threshold session today — 2 × 8 minutes. Clear plan, around 4:45/km, proper work to be done. The only issue was my soleus still slightly reminding me it exists, so forcing a run didn’t make sense. The goal was to train smart, not to prove a point.

Przeliczyłem więc wysiłek na orbitrek. Zamiast patrzeć na tempo, skupiłem się na założeniach tętna i odczuciu pracy. Dwie mocniejsze ósemki weszły równo, tętno stabilnie w okolicach progu, oddech ciężki, ale kontrolowany. Organizm dostał bodziec, a łydka nie została sprowokowana. Taki kompromis, który w dłuższej perspektywie ma więcej sensu niż jeden „bohaterski” trening.

So I translated the effort to the elliptical. Instead of chasing pace, I focused on heart rate targets and perceived effort. Both eight-minute blocks were steady, heart rate sitting around threshold, breathing hard but controlled. The body got the stimulus, and the calf wasn’t irritated. A compromise that makes far more sense long term than one “heroic” session.

Po interwałach wpadła jeszcze siła. Klatka, barki, triceps — bez szarpania ciężarów, ale z dobrą jakością ruchu. Czuję, że ta siła powoli idzie w górę. Nie skokowo, nie spektakularnie, tylko systematycznie. I właśnie o to chodzi.

After the intervals, I added a strength session. Chest, shoulders, triceps — no ego lifting, just solid quality reps. I can feel the strength building up slowly. Not in big jumps, not spectacularly, just steadily. And that’s exactly how it should be.

Nie był to trening pod rekordy ani pod efekt „wow”. To był dzień pod konsekwencję. Próg zaliczony, siła zrobiona, soleus spokojny. Czasem największym postępem jest to, że potrafisz odpuścić to, co niepotrzebne.

This wasn’t a session for records or for a “wow” effect. It was a day for consistency. Threshold work done, strength completed, soleus calm. Sometimes real progress is knowing what not to push.
