Hello #Hive friends!... Today I wanted to select some quite different photos to share with you and tell you their stories. So this was for me like going for a walk again and taking these photos along the streets and paths of the village... But let's go for the pictures which is the important thing here!...

¡Hola amigos de #Hive!... Hoy quise seleccionar fotos bastante distintas entre sí para compartirlas con ustedes y contarles sus historias. Así que esto fue para mi como salir nuevamente ca caminar y a hacer estas fotos por las calles y caminos del pueblo... Pero vayamos a por las fotos que es lo importante aquí!...

"Ernesto"... Walking through the streets around the central square of the village, you can almost always find Ernesto talking to himself out loud, sometimes laughing, sometimes hurling an expletive... Ernesto lives in his own world, a child's world, a world that takes him from his home to the church dining room and then to mass almost every day. Ernesto has always been an iconic character for this village... Ernesto is known and loved by everyone here...

"Ernesto"... Caminando por las calles alrededor de la plaza central del pueblo, casi siempre puede uno encontrarse a Ernesto conversando consigo mismo en voz alta, a veces riendo, otras veces lanzando algún improperio... Ernesto vive en su propio mundo, un mundo de niño, un mundo que lo lleva de su casa al comedor de la Iglesia y luego a misa casi todos los días, Ernesto es un personaje icónico desde siempre para este pueblo... A Ernesto lo conocen y lo quieren todos aquí...

"On the way to work"... David's old Toyota FJ40, which travels dozens of times on the roads between the hamlets near the village, carries and brings back the farmers and labourers who are hired on the tobacco plantations during the summer months... It is an image that can happen many times, but it always has a particular touch in each pass of the old vehicle...

"Rumbo al laburo"... El viejo Toyota FJ40 de David, recorre docenas de veces las rutas entre los caseríos cercanos al pueblo, lo hace llevando y trayendo a los campesinos y jornaleros que contratan en las plantaciones de tabaco durante los meses de verano... Es una imagen que puede ocurrir muchas veces, pero siempre tiene un encado particular en cada pasada del viejo vehículo...

"Bishop's water"... In a small and lonely hamlet, a few kilometres away from the centre of the village, it is easy to take a photo with cows, old public telephones, dogs, people on motorbikes and a mountain with a pine forest in the background... I love this!... And the best thing is that I can walk here for a little more than an hour... 😍

"Agua de Obispo"... En un caserío pequeño y solitario, alejado unos cuantos kilómetros del casco urbano del pueblo, es fácil disparar una foto en donde aparezcan vacas, viejos teléfonos públicos, perros, gente en motocicleta y una montaña con un bosque de pinos al fondo... ¡Amo esto!... Y lo mejor es que puedo llegar aquí caminando durante poco más de una hora... 😍

"The chat in the corner"... Once I was asked what I thought was the "most practised sport in my village" and I immediately answered: "The chat in the corner"... My interlocutor's laughter resounded throughout the street (we were standing on a street corner talking)... And here in Montalbán, it is very easy to stop and talk in the middle of the street, on the street corner... We all know each other and we all have something to say to each other!... And it doesn't even take a couple of minutes before more passers-by join in and a group forms!... 😂

"La charla en la esquina"... Una vez me preguntaron cual creía yo que es el "deporte mas practicado en mi pueblo" y de inmediato conteste: "La charla en la esquina"... La carcajada de mi interlocutor resonó por toda la calle (precisamente estábamos parados en una esquina callejera hablando)... Y es que aquí en Montalbán, es muy fácil detenerse a hablar en medio de la calle, en las esquinas... ¡Nos conocemos entre todos y todos tenemos algo que decirnos!... ¡Y no pasan ni siquiera un par de minutos antes de que se unan más transeúntes y se forme un grupo!... 😂

"A glimpse into the old house"... I'm a bit crazy, I have to admit... So, sometimes I do strange things, like seeing an old house that looks interesting and entering it if its door is open, or even sticking my camera through a window, taking a picture and leaving without being seen... In a village where I was born and everyone knows me, it's feasible to do this without anyone daring to shoot me! 😂... So... This is the corridor of a nice old house, I love the old photos and that tiny TV!...

"Vistazo en la casa vieja"... Yo estoy un poco loco, tengo que reconocerlo... Entonces, a veces hago cosas extrañas, como ver una casa vieja que parece interesante y entrar a ella si su puerta está abierta, o incluso meter mi cámara por una ventana, disparar una foto y salir sin ser visto... ¡En un pueblo donde nací y todos me conocen, es factible hacer esto sin que nadie ose dispararme! 😂... Entonces... ¡Este es el corredor una linda casa de antaño, me encantan las viejas fotos y ese televisor pequeñito!...

"Raphael and his street garden"... Rafael is an excellent motorbike mechanic, many people bring their motorbikes to his workshop for repairs and he is almost always busy... But Rafael has another passion: "Flower plants"... And look how the street in front of his house looks like!... He has sown seeds in the cracks and they usually come out leafy and strong!... In the mornings, Rafael can be seen watering his "street plants" (as he calls them) with a lot of love...

"Rafael y su jardín callejero"... Rafael es un excelente mecánico de motocicletas, muchas personas llevan sus motos a repara a su taller y casi siempre está ocupado... Pero Rafael tiene otra pasión: "Las plantas florales"... ¡Y miren como está la calle en frente de la fachada de su casa!... ¡Ha sembrado semillas en las grietas y suelen nacer frondosas y fuertes!... A Rafael se le puede ver en las mañanas regando sus "plantas callejeras" (como él las llama) con mucho amor...

"The drawing"... In a humble house (whose walls are built using metal sheets) the drawing made by a child reminds us all of the magic of childhood, which is capable of overcoming sadness and lack...

"El dibujo"... En una vivienda humilde (cuyas paredes se construyen usando laminas de metal) el dibujo realizado por un niño nos recuerda a todos la magia de la infancia, la cual es capaz de vencer las tristezas y las carencias...

"Diego and his bad memory".... My friend Diego seems to have forgotten the two heart attacks he has suffered during the last decade (not to mention some other notable health problems)... So it is not uncommon to see Diego speeding along the roads on his old mountain bike... He says: "He'll die the day it's his turn, not when the doctors say so"... That's a very particular way of thinking!... Although he seems to have a certain reason... Time has the last word.

"Diego y su mala memoria".... Mi amigo Diego parece haber olvidado los dos infartos que ha sufrido durante la última década (eso sin contar con algunos otros notables problemas de salud)... Entonces, es frecuente ver a Diego pasar raudo por las carreteras montado en su vieja bicicleta de montaña... El dice qué: "Morirá el día que le toque en turno, no cuando los médicos digan"... ¡Vaya una manera muy particular de pensar!... Aunque parece tener cierta razón... El tiempo tiene la ultima palabra.
