Heh... A busy week indeed.
Just as the Yuletide passed, we had to quickly start preparing for Ninnu's upcoming litter. I had to pick up the puppy box from my brother, buy a few essentials we would need for the birthing event, and also prepare the New Year's celebration meals.
We ended up buying a lot of ingredients in advance. In fact we had already made some of the food choices before Christmas Eve, but there were still some things we had missed, and those we wanted more. One being the smetana herrings. (Too bad the herrings had for some reason already gone bad, so I ended up throwing the whole dish in the bio-recyclables bin.)
Ninnu was ultimately too early with her puppies. Her pregnancy had taken only 59 days before the puppies were born, instead of the approximate of 63 days.
On New Year's Eve, Ninnu gave birth to 3 lively little puppies, Maksimillian, Miska and Milaya...
But in the saddest way ever, the New Year started with one more puppy, Moriz, 8 hours late, and stillborn. 😭
However, life goes on, and Ninnu is busy caring for the 3 of the remaining puppies.

Wow! Three puppies! They are so cute with dark brown or chocolate colour! So sad about the fourth one who didn’t make it. Ninnu must be quite busy from now on.

Ninnu has been busy alright.
Sometimes she seems to forget that she's got puppies to look after, but on other times she's very scrupulous indeed. Especially after I've taken her out for a walk, she immediately wants to go check up on the pups. So much so that I have to keep an eye on her not to take off until I've given her a proper wash after coming in.
(The weather right now is wet and the snow can get very dirty. That transfers into the fur and paws so she needs washing up.)

Today I learned from our neighbour, that our home has been made available to rent for others starting next month. I have no idea how that may have happened. What I am certain of is that we haven't been contacted about it, nor are we behind any notice.
Now I need to contact the landlord on Monday and ask how it is possible, that our apartment is up for rent while we haven't shown any intent of moving out. And if the lease is being terminated, I need to ask why they haven't informed us about it.
It's an interesting New Year, at the very least.

Ohhh, time without going through here, how beautiful Nunni and her babies! What beautiful photos all! I see that Miro is fixing a Christmas tree in the previous photos, so nice to hear from you again. I hope you have a beautiful 2021, a really big hug.

Although the puppies are so beautiful but I fell sorrow for the 4th one :(. Best of luck for the new year. hope all of the three puppies will grow up in fresh air.
Thank you! Gladly the rest of the litter is doing great. It does happen, when a dog has her first puppies, one of them might die. One can't get too sad about it, as like everything else, death is also a part of life.
The rest of the puppies are now one week old, and are growing very fast.
