#644 - Foods for today.
A glorious Tuesday fellow Hiveans. How's your day going? Hope all is well and good out there. My wife and I had an early walk again as usual near the river. We went there by five thirty in the morning and went back home before seven because the heat from the sun is already hot at that time. Even at five in the morning, the sun is already almost out and the surroundings are visible and no longer dark.
For today shots here we have a number of foods that we ate for the past few days when we went to the city of pines for a single day of visit. It wasn't enough staying there for a night after a night also in Atok but we are budget tight. Maybe this coming New year we can go there once again and spend more time. Before we went home we were looking for a place to eat, not a fancy restaurant that can be seen in the business district. So we used Google to help us locate eateries that are cheap and with great food so we went to this eatery which is about a kilometer away from where we were staying and just beside the slaughter house. The eatery is called Balajadia Kitchenette and they serve a variety of dishes to choose from but we chose three from their menus. One is the grilled pork belly which is already cut into several stripes, then this sayote leaves which was sauteed with a lot of tomatoes.
The third order we had which was not included in the photos are grilled okras. It took sometime for the cook to grill them and we are already hungry. So instead of waiting, my wife and I started to dig in and we just waited for the grilled okras to arrive. After five minutes it came already with bagoong sauce. My wife doesn't like slippery food like okra and jute so I finished all of the grilled okras, there's ten pieces of it and they wre not small ones they are more than five inches mostly. I would highly recommend this place because the food they serve are fresh and cheap with three viands and two rice plus free beef soup, we only paid less than $10.
On the previous day when we arrived in the city of pines, my wife was curious about the Korean restaurant in the outskirts of the city. She said it has high reviews in Google. Though I don't like eating fried meals I had no choice but to agree. We went to this place called K Mart Baguio, the place looks nice and I order bibimbap and my wife ordered these fried chicken whatever the flavor is. When it got served, my meal taste fine with the fresh veggies and few stripes of beef.
Then there's this fried chicken covered with a lot of flavoring. By the looks of it there is a lot of msg here and when I tried eating it, not even cooked well. Seems they deep fried it in a hurry and the chicken meat is still not fully cooked and the taste is not in the meat but only on the skin where these flavoring are. That's the difference when a food is cooked well instead rushed. The taste of the fully cooked food goes dip into the meat while a rushed fried chicken doesn't taste at all, just bland.
