Wednesday Walk in Stavros, Greece

Hi Hivers and Wednesday walkers! I hope you have a great Wednesday. ๐Ÿค— It is so hot in my place today that it is not suitable for walking, but I will fondly remember the recent walk I had in Stavros. Before I went to the island of Evia, which I wrote about in one of my previous blogs, I spent a week in this charming town in Greece.

I experience a summer #wednesdaywalk in Stavros almost every year. I love that feeling when you know exactly where you are going. We started our Wednesday walk at Platani Beach and followed the seaside promenade towards one of our favorite places - Lefteris restaurant.

The beach stretches a long way along the coast, with little cafes and tavernas along the way.

We love this atmosphere: the sea always close by, people enjoying a slow Greek summer, and beautiful courtyards in front of the restaurants.

Along the way, we passed several lovely tavernas that looked tempting, but we had our destination in mind.

We have been coming to Lefteris for years, and no matter how hot the walk gets, we always think it is worth it. We also spotted little churches along the way, including one tucked inside the garden of a cafe.

When we finally arrived at Lefteris, we were ready for a long, relaxed lunch. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but what I love most are olive trees in the garden. It gives the whole place a special Mediterranean feeling.

And then came the food. We had pasta with shrimps, mussels saganaki, and calamari stuffed with feta and tomatoes.

The kids went for souvlaki, of course.

16511.jpg

Everything was delicious, but the perfect ending was a wonderful creamy Greek dessert that we all shared.

By the time we finished lunch and started walking back, the heat had really caught up with us. We could think of only one thing: getting back to the sea and jumping straight into the water.

And honestly, after a hot Wednesday walk in Stavros, there is no better ending. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you for reading and have a great Wednesday!

Thats one lovely walk, anf with all the tables and chairs, its like there's a lively event currently happening there hehe. Love all the trees too and seeing how close you were to the sea, made it more a lively one. We're a bit closer to the sea but I just can't go there if I want to ๐Ÿ˜†.

How nice it was to take this stroll on Wednesday! It seemed that Stavros is the ideal destination for unwinding and appreciating all the delights of summer vacation. I had great fun during my visit, because everything โ€“ from the fantastic seascapes to the wonderful taverns and gardens of Mediterranean โ€“ just struck me! It seems like the food is amazing there โ€“ I especially loved the stuffed calamari and mussels saganaki. And no wonder that you have developed an affection to the restaurant of Lefteris. Swimming after such a hot walk will definitely be a great idea.
