Hello, hello, photogenic hivers.

When talking about typical Venezuelan food, our supreme arepa is always mentioned, but today I come to share with you our second queen: The empanada. The empanada is in the hearts of many of us, and there is even a myth about sharing the last piece of the empanada (the "culito" as they call it colloquially) only with the person you really love.

Today I am going to talk to you about these three beautiful empanadas that I had the pleasure of tasting while I was on the coast. It happens that the empanada can be filled with anything and on the coast the attraction is fresh seafood; these three here are shrimp, skate and dogfish. I won't lie, the new love of my life was the shrimp one, but the other two were good enough to fight for the first place in my heart.

It is worth mentioning that this was my first time trying empanadas with these fillings since they are only common on the coasts, more generally you can find them with more typical fillings such as shredded beef, shredded chicken, ham and cheese. I'm not a person who eats a lot of seafood but these certainly stole my heart so completely that I can't wait to go back to the coast just for them

Hola, hola, hivers fotogénicos.

Cuando se habla de platos típicos venezolanos siempre se menciona a nuestra suprema arepa, pero hoy les vengo a compatir a nuestra segunda reina: La empanada. La empanada está en el corazón de muchos de nosotros, e incluso hay un mito sobre compatir el último trozo de la empanada (el culito como le dicen coloquialmente) solo con la persona a la que se quiere de verdad.

Hoy les vengo a hablar sobre estas tres preciosiades que tuve el placer de probar mientras estuve por la costa. Sucede que la empanada pude estar rellena de cualquier cosa y en la costa el atractivo es mariscos frescos; estas tres de acá son de camarón, raya y cazón. No mentiré, el nuevo amor de mi vida fue la de camarón, pero las otras dos era igual de buenas como para combatir por el primer puesto en mi corazón.

Cabe destacar que mi primera vez probando empanadas con estos rellenos ya que solo son comunes en las costas, de forma más general puedes encontrarla con rellenos más típicos como carne mechada, pollo mechado, jamón y queso. No soy ua perosna de comer muchas cosas del mar pero estas sin duda se robaron mi corazón por completo que ya ansío volver a la costa solo por ellas.

Espero les parezcan tan antojosas como a mí.

It looks you have several different varieties of them out there, or they can be filled with anything ? :))

Yes, it is our second great culinary love. An empanada solves everything from early departures from home to hunger in the middle of a hangover :) You could say that there are two types because there are those who prepare them with sugar and those who don't, but the great variety you say is more because they can be filled with anything, I've even eaten them with beans :)
