A Slice at the Moon

Being a New Yorker and trying to have a decent slice of pizza anywhere was almost impossible.

Don’t get me wrong, I still believe that there won’t be any other place outside of New York that will be better.

What I can say, that residing and visiting in Central Florida for so many years that enough, that we have found a few places most definitely worth the $dough$ lol

One of those places is Lazy Moon Pizza and they have two spots.

Tiffany, her boys and I prefer the original place in the Mills50 area.

As you can see from the first picture I posted of my slice of pizza it’s a big one, although the biggest slice I ever had was in Bronx, New York.

I asked for extra cheese.

The boys had pepperoni and one of them asked for sautéed mushroom and black olives along with the pepperoni.

Tiffa had the Buffalo Chicken slice.
I prefer to just go extra cheese, because I love pizza and don’t want to drown it with all that other stuff.

We did go with the Hummus platter for our app. Well, Tiffa and I did. It was rather good. It’s a bit confusing to the palette for me to have these hummus and pizza in one visit, but I don’t view the place a traditional pizzeria.

Seems like you have found an acceptable replacement for New York pizza. Personally, I am a fan of Chicago deep dish. Thanks for sharing.

There was one specific spot in the Bronx that had huge slices. I lived in the Boogie Down for a couple of years and it wasn’t too far from where I lived a couple of years.

The pizzas look awesome, although I've been to NYC a few times in the past, and I must agree nothing beats New York pizzas. The place looks great, too. What's that padded-cushion stuff on the ceiling, I wonder? Great way to stack picture frames that way!

Holy! That's a big slice but damn these prices are high as well. I was already surprised seeing 19 bucks pizza here in Spain (not even big) so I'm defo not ordering that. The supermarket here has a HUGE assortment of fresh pizza that only cost 2.50 euro each and were actually very good. No way I'm wasting 40 bucks on pizza :)

Lol, you misunderstood me, I already thought our prices were expensive, but those at your place are even worse (checked the website). The prices I meant are for a pizza, not slice :)

Buying by the slice is not that common unless you're at an airport/train station etc..

I do enjoy a good pizza but for now, I will probably buy the whole pizza at the supermarket in the fresh department for 2.50 instead :)

Oh, we are in Central Florida and Lazy Moon is near downtown, even a donut cost an arm and a leg lol.

LOL, I remember back in Holland, we bought pizza at dominos for 10 bucks and often it was 2 for 15 or 2 plus one for free etc.. at other pizzerias (not the known chains) it was even cheaper and more like 7/8 for a big pizza .. now it seems you get a part of a pizza only for that amount. I'm not too fond of pizza myself, I was when I was younger, but now it's very rare that I eat one. That's a good thing too with these prices lolol.

I envy you for getting pizza that size! Looks really good too, and I like the ambience of the pizzeria.

The hummus dip dish looks refreshing - I'm used to mixing cuisines here in Japan too!

Fusions do work sometimes. I don't mind them. Back in New York they had some spots with a mixed menu 😋
