ASEAN Hive Challenge: Comfort Foods that I love

$1

I remember what my mom said before, "You should try foods you still haven't tried while you're still young and alive," so those words are ingrained in my brain, I always feel guilty whenever I want to taste something new or trending, they tend to sound unhealthy, but in what happening in this world I guess those things don't matter anymore LOL.

I am so lucky that my family is not a killjoy when I suggest trying something new. My mother is the person who always says, "Yes, let's try it." Savory and dessert, let's go for it :D Do you have the same comfort food as I? Let me know.

Ginisang Munggo is one of my comfort foods, not because it's good to eat when the weather is cold, but it makes the budget comfortable too :D LOL.

When my mom still cooked for us, one time she cooked a dish named Chicken Afritada. I fell in love with it, the thick savory sauce is just a perfect combo with cooked rice. Bring back the comfort when I'm still young.

This first time I tasted Pinakbet. When my grandmother cooked it for us, I realized "Vegetables are good when cooked right." Rest in peace, grandma. I can cook now. :D

Tinola is the dish I am going to eat hot and cold weather. The moment that tender chicken touches my lips, it goes inside my mouth chef kiss! The broth is diabolically comforting.

I am the type of person who likes to eat creamy food, especially when it is savory. Creamy chicken is the best comfort for me, thanks to my cousin who suggested cooking this dish. It's one of the dishes always on our menu for the week.

Nothing beats the comfort it gives me when I eat Adobong Manok, eating with hands, plus points on that, such a good food, the more time it sits on the table, the more it tastes delicious!

Comfort Desserts:

I was not a coffee lover before, but since I discovered Coffee Dalgona during the pandemic era, yeah, I am that person too, the comforting taste of the foamy coffee is worth the time making it.

There is a time when our avocado tree can't stop growing avocados at first we are happy because we love to eat it as a dessert which the process on which you need to mush the avocadoes and then added a lot of ice and then powdered milk and sugar just mix it a wahlaa Avocado in milk. I can eat a ton of it.

Since I tasted the matcha ice cream from the restaurant that ate @straykat treats me, whenever I see a food stall selling any desserts with matcha, I always buy one, but this is the best out of all of them.

Ice cream from Mcdonald is freaking delicious, although I prefer the caramel sundae rather than the mcflurry but the ice cream is good so not much change, whenever my head hurt this is the one dessert makes it worse LOL just kidding, but ease it a little bit.

Frozen yogurt is good, and the pistachios are too! But too pricy for a little cup, but I will still go back for another flavor :D Such a unique, comforting taste.

My mom bought this Buchi from the market, and it tastes just like my mom cooks it, pure kamote with cheese in it, it looks like dango but it is not, perfect to eat with hot coffee in the morning.

Special mention for these two desserts, which always remind me of my childhood. Razon's halo halo is famous for the smooth ice, but I feel disappointed when it does not taste the from before. One of my favorite comforting desserts is the Zagu halo-halo flavor as the same as Razon's it is not the same as it used to be.

Thank you for visiting. See you on my next blog. :D
Please take care of your mental health as well.
I hope you are okay today :))

Your comfort foods look appetizing, but most of them are ruled out of my diet. Adam is good, he has only one off-limits food. Me??? I have a lot of allergies. I'm a kidney donor, so I only eat moderately on oily, salty, fatty, and sweet foods, and I also have acid reflux. That's why I stick to my diet, but sometimes I have cheat days..🤣🤣🤣 My Doctor knows when I eat something off limits because he monitors me. I have a monthly check-up in addition to the semi-annual and annual check-ups. Haay...I'm going insane!😔 Thanks for sharing your comfort foods @leannwithdoublen. Good luck with the challenge this week.

Munggo and adobo are definitely my go-to comfort foods, too! It's simple, satisfying, and gentle on the budget, which makes it even more comforting.🤗
