Malaysia considered to be one of the youngest "united nation" amongst the Asian countries, consist of 9 hereditary states, 7 Sultans, one Raja and one Yang di-Pertuan Besar, elected by the chiefs of component districts.

Wait wait... Aren't we talking about restaurant? Well, this is part of the introduction of Negeri Sembilan, the ninth states and the only state that has a Yang di-Pertuan. Despite being part of Malaysia, they have their own oil refinery, they have their own gas station brands, they speaks a slightly different(probably pure) accent, and most importantly their food has a unique and distinct kind of goodness to it.

We ordered an iced tea for me, but without sugar due to my current health situation. Followed by a cup of hot tea for the home minister, and a glass of iced Milo for junior. I am surprise the iced tea despite non sugar, it does not have the bitterness to the tea, and the evaporated milk they use are properly frothed and complement to the tea, making this ice cold and creamy tea extremely easy to go down.

I've got myself a bowl of standard noodle soup 汤面。 According to the description, these are home made noodles, was boiled and cooked in heavily seasoned onions and garlic soup, served with fish balls and meat paste. I had to snap a photo and send it back to my siblings to tell them I found the taste from 40 years ago when we're still a kid, this is exactly that. Best of all, this bowl of noodle cost only RM6.90, that's like $1.50! Seriously, one can't even buy an Americano at our local Starbucks 😂

We added share plate, a simple fried chicken dish for us. We expect nothing more than dry and plain chicken breast meat from this. I'm sure the look of the picture tells a thousand words. Boy when I took a first bite, it totally blew my mind. The outter look is totally deceiving. It's extremely juicy and flavorful fry chicken cubes, made of - if not drumstick, it could be chicken thigh. Extremely tender, high quality piece of meat.

Home minister pieced her champion dish. Highly recommended by the shop, a pork belly dried noodle dish. The noodle are as usual, handmade. The highlight was the pork belly slices. This is like the Chinese bacon that seasoned by Chinese herbs, couple with the heavily seasoned soy sauced noodle, man this thing can cause me heart attack 😂 I wish I didn't take a bite of the missus champion pick, it makes me regret from my clear noodle soup.

Junior saw the mother pork belly, she also customized her own dish by asking for a bowl fo dried noodle with pork belly on the side. Good thing is, she gets the meatballs and fish balls on a separate bowl of clear soup.

Here is the meat ball, fish ball, meat paste all in a bowl of fragrant clear soup. Don't expect crazy huge chunk of meat, try to enjoy the smell, the taste of herbs they use to make the soup.

Last but not least, my youngest is a the bread man. He likes bread since he was a toddler. Despite now all grown up, he's still very much into bread. It's an ordinary Hainamese bread, toasted with cheese.

Before I realized, noodles are done, meat balls gone, it left me sitting there scooping the soup base over and over again, keeping my hopes up in finding whatever treasure they hide beneath that tasty clear soup.
