A satisfying Seafood Hor Fun at Meetup @13
Food is more than just nourishment for the body; it nourishes our soul too. It's hard to put into words, but whenever I enjoy a delicious meal, I feel my stomach filling up with satisfaction and my heart brimming with joy. If you're not experiencing this when you eat, you're missing out!
Tonight, I am thrilled to share one of my best seafood Hor Fun experiences.
This wide Chinese noodle is officially known as Shahe Fen, often shortened to He Fen or Ho Fun. However, here in Singapore, it's predominantly called Hor Fun. It's fascinating how such a simple term can have so many alternative names depending on the region.
I ordered my Hor Fun at MEETUP @13, located in the Mountbatten Road area.
The menu has 2 pages (front and back) which is relatively small compared to other Chinese restaurants however it has all the dishes that I like.
It's been a while since I last ordered Hor Fun, so I decided to have it for dinner tonight. I love these noodles because of their wide shape. They're like a blanket that absorbs all the flavors of the ingredients and sauce.
I opted for the dry version of this Hor Fun dish for a specific reason—the 'char' flavor created through stir-frying in a wok. Achieving this delicious aroma and taste requires masterful skill from the chef.
The version that I ordered is the Seafood Hor Fun. It has white fish meat, squid rings, and prawns too.
I enjoyed this meal together with an iced lemon tea that was served in a beer mug. It was a pleasurable experience!
It’s a neighborhood hawker restaurant, which is why it feels like home to me. I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes they offer—they all look so appetizing!

It’s indeed yummy and very filling 😊
I agree so much with what you wrote in the first paragraph that I can relate to it. Food is much more than food, so much so that it may even be connected to our mood, It's food for the soul, definitely.
That looks very delicious 😋

You got that right. It really is able to affect one’s mood. Whenever I’m stressed, I go to my favorite restaurant and order my favorite dish… my entire mood will change and feel better.
