The Best Seafood, Ever!


Hello, friends especially foodies!


Recently when I wanted to have some seafood, mommy took us to a popular live seafood restaurant. But this time the restaurant we went is not located in mall or shopping center.


At front of the restaurant you could see many large containers with lots of sea creatures inside.

The containers had yellow color. And look at the left. Some aquariums were there.

Take a look closer then you could find many fish, clams, even crabs (at the plastic container below.

Look at the fresh clams, we chose the largest ones!

Fresh fish are all around.

But they also had some fish in the containers with cheaper price.


After choosing the fresh seafood we then ordered how they would cook it. Let me explain a bit about it

For crabs, there they had Padangnese sauce/Black pepper/Oyster sauce/Smoked and rajungan.

For squid, they had crispy flour fried/spices/salted egg/ roasted/salted fried/Padangnese sauce.

For fish, they had sweet sour/tauco (fermented black beans)/fried/Nyonya steamed/Hongkong steamed/Tiocu steamed/soup

For clams, they mentioned kind of it like batik clams, dara clams, tofu clams, green clams, tiger clams, and axe clams.


For chicken, they had fried chicken, green chili chicken, honey chicken and thai chicken.

In other section, they had cunkien, tofu kimcun, fan tofu, fried tofu, salt chili tofu, fried tempeh, salt chili eggplant, special fried eggplant, sambalado eggplant, roasted eggplant, roasted eggplant, roasted/fried stinky beans, fuyunghai, steamed buns and egg oyster.

In veggie section, they had broccoli, green bean, capcay, genjer, water spinach, and salted fish beansprout.

In shrimp section, they had nestum shrimp, salted egg shrimp, stinky beans tofu tauco shrimp, butter fried shrimp, Padang sauce shrimp, special shrimp, and roasted shrimp.

They also had kind of fruit juice and some drinks like mineral water, sarsaparilla, coke, lemon tea, lychee tea, tea and sweet tea. Some kind of beer are also available there.


After ordered at the table in front of their door, we entered. The dining area was quite large and some already full of customers. It was not even 12 o’clock, but I could see some came before us. Well, the dining area had some air conditiners. It was neat and clean too. But not many decorations there, and they put some plastic covers on each table.


When we were sitting there, waiting for our food to come. The free bowl of sour veggie soup delivered to our table.

We began to have it.

Well, I was surprised because it was beyond my expectation. It was simple because it only included three veggies like corn, jackfruit and Siamese pumpkin, but it was so tasty. They serious in making it until it had a great combination of flavour, sour, sweet, savory and spicy. We got all we needed to begin the food journey there.


The dining area was full even when our dishes hadn’t come yet. You could see that the restaurant is popular!


Next, our dishes came one by one… Started with the sweet potato leaves stirred with the shrimp paste, fried butter shrimp, then Nyonya steamed Grouper Fish. And last, the large clam, steamed with garlic. And then we right away had them.. Here was our table that day

Oh yeah, there they also provided three kind of chili paste on each table. They were chili sweet soy sauce, onion chili paste and shrimp chili paste.

Now let me jump into the flavour!


STIRRED SWEET POTATO LEAVES

The sweet potato leaves had soft texture and easy to bite. The size of the leaves were medium. It stirred perfectly with the shrimp paste until it had tasty savory spicy flavour. Amazed, it think it was one of the best veggie dish I ever had!


FRIED BUTTER SHRIMP

They fried the shrimp with thin flour before stirred it with butter sauce. The shrimps were fresh as we chose it by ourselves. It had savory and sweet flavour. Uniquely it usually eat with the skin, that I was not use to. LOL. It made me roaming, but I think this dish was also special.


NYONYA STEAMED GROUPER FISH

This was the best dish. Yeah, it contained spices, much, it had good smell, tasty flavour in savory, sour, sweet and a bit spicy too. The grouper fish perfectly flavoured and the meat was soft and smooth. We chose a large fish until we couldn’t finished it because it was a kilo weight!


STEAMED GARLIC CLAMS

Well I didn’t know what clam was it. But it steamed well with the garlic. The texture of the meat was not too soft and it was chewy. In those big clams, unfortunately the meats were so small. And it had savory with steamed natural garlic flavour plus they cooked it with the clear noodle. This dish was awesome too!


Well, overall I was surprised by the flavour of the seafood there, because all were special and so tasty, the price was still affordable and you should come there with your family members so you could choose many kind of their seafood dishes to enjoy together. They would all tasty, like ours!

I'm not sure if i would eat fish like that , but i do like salmon in my green curry .
