Hello, friends especially foodies!

On Saturday sometimes we go to shopping center just to stroll around or buy some things we need like on recent Saturday. On that Saturday, we had had our breakfast late so then as the consequence we also had a late lunch. After seeing around then we decided to enter a restaurant named Hong Kong Sheng Kee.

Eventhough it was 3 pm, the restaurants had some customers that looked enjoying their food and also dessert.

At the front you could see they had some limited time offer menus like hainam rice combination, noodle dumpling chicken wansui, crispy hekeng, hainam with crispy pork belly & charsiew, hainam rice chicken, and hainam rice with steam rice & charsiew.

This restaurant had a quite large dining area that you could see from the outside. Nothing special in their interior design. I even questioning about the harmony between the red color for the ceramic wall, purple for the sofa and grey blue for the carpet. So weird and unusual i think.

For the menu, they had kind of dimsum like yolky custard pau, hongkong shiewmai, crystal prawn dumpling ‘har gao’, charsiew snowy bun, braised chicken feet, hongkong carrot cake, hongkong spare rib with black bean, honey char siew pau, deep fried shrimp dumpling, deep fried wanton, deep fried spring roll, and deep fried beancurd skin roll.

They also had hongkong snacks like pan fried guo tie, gold dusted crispy beancurd, and szechuan style wanton in spicy chilli oil; hongkong porridge like supreme congee with sliced fish, prawn, and scallop, sliced fish congee, preserved egg and pork ball congee, and chicken congee.

Looks like they had ala hongkong style menu, for hongkong rice they had braised pork belly with mui choy rice, hongkong spare rib rice, gold dusted chicken cutlet rice, sheng kee fried rice, xo sauce fried rice, crispy braised chicken drumstick rice, hongkong braised beef brisket rice, black pepper beef rice, hongkong char siew rice, and minced pork with salted egg yolk rice.

For hongkong noodle category, they had shengkee signature combination noodle (dry/soup), gold dusted chicken cutlet noodle (dry), hongkong char siew noodle (dry/soup), hongkong seafood noodle, crispy braised chicken drumstick noodle (dry), hongkong wat tan hor fun, hongkong braised beef brisket noodle (dry/soup),hongkong wanton soup, hongkong dumpling soup, handmade pork ball soup, plain noodle (dry/soup), hongkong choy sum, hongkong stir fried beef hor fun, hongkong wanton noodle (dry/soup), hongkong dumpling noodle (dry/soup), handmade pork ball noodle, and spicy pork ball noodle.

For snow ice, they had mango snow ice with pomelo, green tea snow ice with red bean and almond flake, milk snow ice with strawberry and nata coco, and milk snow ice with mango & sago. For hot dessert, they had sesame paste, rice ball in red bean paste, red bean paste, and rice ball in sesame paste.

For cold dessert, they had black glutinous rice with ice cream and black pearl, shengkee mango pomelo sago, grass jelly signature with black pearl, mango pudding with shengkee mango pomelo sago, mango pomelo herbal jelly, mango pomelo grass jelly, black glutinous rice with nata de coco and black pearl, grass jelly with black pearl and aloe vera, grass jelly with black pearl and red bean, mango pudding with ice cream, grass jelly with black pearl ice cream, and herbal jelly.

For beverage, they had hongkong yuan yang, honey lemon, hongkong milk tea, honey chrysanthemum (hot), honey lemon (hot), homemade lemon tea (hot), milk tea (hot), coffee (hot), hongkong yuan yang (hot), tea, iced tea, sweet tea, iced sweet tea, bottled water, honey chrysanthemum (iced), zesty coke, green lime with plum juice,sour plum coke, cucumber mojito with aloe vera, lime and peppermint, sugarcane drink with water chestnut, lychee tea, iced coffee, and iced homemade lemon tea.

The first main dish that came to our table was my husband’s, this was SHENGKEE SIGNATURE COMBINATION NOODLE.

Their noodle had soft smooth small diameter texture. The taste of it was sweet and savory. It had 5 pieces of quite large wanton that had shrimp and pork filling with savory and sweet flavour. The charshiew (bbq) pork had sweet flavor. And it also had some green veggie in there too. This noodle we could say quite tasty.

Then my main dish arrived, this was their limited offer, HAINAM RICE CHICKEN.

How surprised we were, the chicken slices were only 5. The hainam rice tasted so good, with savory flavour. While the chicken was only light savory and just so so. While i was eating it, a waitress came served the chili sauce and soup, how late, supposed to be served at the same time.

Then the beverages also arrived, my husband’s was ICED TEA while mine was ICED HONEY CHRYSANTHEMUM. The honey chrysanthemum had sweet honey flavour with freshness of the chrysanthemum.

The side dish we ordered came after a long time, PAN FRIED GUO TIE.

The guo tie had pork meat and chinese leak filling and it served with the vinegar. The guo tie had savory flavour and the taste of it was just so so. We also regretted that they hadn’t dry the oil before served it.

We asked the dessert to be served after we had our lunch, and this was MANGO POMELO GRASS JELLY.

The iced contained mango, pomelo pulpy, grass jelly and ice. It had sweet and a bit sour flavor. So fresh but unfortunately the portion was small.

For all we paid 301K IDR, i think a bit pricey for the small portions of food and also for the interior they provide.

Both of us think that there’s no reason for both of us to come back there again.
