Cooking my favorite spring vegetables / 大好きな春野菜

(Edited)

I love vegetables, especially those in season. For spring, white asparagus ("Spargel" in German) is definitely the king for me.

When I started my stay in Austria in 2011, I didn't know I continue bing based in Europe or "Spargel countries". So I bought it farmers market and supermarkets, and ate it almost everyday 😁 I didn't have to do so since it turned to be I settled in Germany. It's a funny story I remember every year in this season.

There are a lot of options to cook but I like to cook it simple such as sautee a bit and steam cook it with white wine. I like the silent calm time to peel the skin off from the bottom part and see the pile.

Then I saute asparagus with butter and garlic plus pinch salt. Then I add Broccolini, which is another my favorite spring veg I will mention later, and mushrooms. With lid, 20 minutes steaming.

It was simply simply tasty. Thank you spring!

I also bought and cooked green ones last week after I read a blog post by Japanese person living in Italy for long. It seems white ones are more for German speaking countries. Green ones are also cooked simply grilled in oven with olive oil and parmigiano.

As I mentioned already, my another spring favorite is Broccolini. Unfortunately it seems it's not common in Germany but Italian stores sometimes have it. I like the bright green color and fine bitterness.

I like to eat it with pasta ... like Italians?? 😊 I simply saute it with onion, garlic, mushrooms and dried tomatoes.

Then here it is! It went well perfect with cooled white wine.

I used it for Sushi rolls too to 😊

That's it! I'm happy that I can fully enjoying spring taste this year too.

What is your favorite vegetable of the season? I'm happy to read about it!

🌸 🌸 🌸

Zucchini is definitely my favorite vegetable for the spring season and I would dare say for all seasons.

The healthiness of vegetables, together with their versatility in the kitchen and their rich flavors, make them essential when planning a delicious dish.

Thank you dear @akipponn for sharing this interesting culinary proposal!

Receive my most cordial greetings, and good appetite!

野菜は健康的であり、キッチンでの多用途性と豊かな風味とともに、おいしい料理を作るときに欠かせません。

Nice to receive your comment from beautiful Vienna! I took a look at your location as I thought you might be in a warmer country as you wrote Zucchini as a spring veg. I like it for summer ... actually I eat it all around the year though 😁 Talking about squash family, my favorite is bitter melon as an Asian.

In addition to being passionate about cooking, I imagine that you also really like reading detective novels and investigative television series!🤗🤗
The truth is that you are very right because I am actually located in Venezuela, a South American country that has an extraordinary climate for the harvest of this species of exquisite vegetables. I keep the city of Vienna as a cube, in my profile, for a kind of cabal (for good luck). As the city is considered the city of music, the arts and the place that Beethoven adopted to compose many of his most recognized musical wonders, it is a tourist destination that I would love to visit before I die.

Thank you very much dear @akipponn !(Sherlock Holmes)!! for your excellent comment
