The Bogeyman
Authentification required - words I simply detest seeing on my PC screen when logging onto a site I've visited countless times!
As for face recognition, I might as well be faceless as I have yet to find an App that manages to scan my face!
I honestly believe the bogeyman was out in full force yesterday as a couple of crypto sites I went onto yesterday, suddenly asked for authentication.
I thought we'd bumped into a serial killer when I saw this mask on the back of a golf cart recently, but it belonged to a hunky young man who really did not look the part :)
My ID document was not recognised as the correct format for my country, as I still have not applied for an ID card; I simply am not prepared to go camping outside our Home Affairs offices!
I had to resort to taking a selfie holding up a piece of handwritten paper, but I did not hold the piece of paper correctly, so I gave up and went to bed at midnight!
My authentication eventually came through on Blocktrades, but the conversion from HBD to Hive was still not done by this morning. Kudos to their support team who resolved the issue in no time at all!
Ionomy had technical issues and I waited over 12 hours for that transaction to show up in my wallet, but at least their support team kept me in the loop!
All this after struggling to get used to a new phone...yep, still have one or two glitches there, so I'm still walking around with 2 phones!
We've had a quiet week as far as bnb bookings go, so it was a nice respite, although not for the pocket.
The angels spread their wings after all the trouble the bogeyman brought, as I suddenly received 3 lengthy bookings in one afternoon!
We've been enjoying seeing the change in the garden, even though the heady scent of the Jasmine is quite overwhelming in the evening, it makes a pretty sight and the scent becomes really lovely.
The French Hydrangea is starting to get life again after looking really drab during winter, with a cluster of flowers shyly peeking out; I'm looking forward to seeing it open up fully.
Our neighbour's Jacaranda tree leaves a very pretty lilac carpet on the paving, unfortunately, the photo does not do it any justice.
Meals have been simple this week with just three of us to cook for; hubby ordered scrambled eggs on lettuce leaves, as he's trying to lose the extra kilos that crept up in winter :)
I had a large punnet of chopped mushrooms, spring onions, diced spinach, and this gorgeous red pepper, so made a quick stir-fry for Saturday night. I ended up adding the cooked rice toward the end, so it turned into a stir-fried rice dish, very tasty I must say and a whole lot better than junky takeaway food!
Living in Durban, we know all about Diwali celebrations; a friend always brings a gift box filled with sweetmeats and savouries. This year she focused on savoury snacks otherwise hubby would miss out.
Of course, there are heated debates on the neighbourhood-watch chat-groups about the fireworks that terrify everyone's pets. Some people celebrate with very pretty fireworks, but there still are those who let off big bangs that make it sound like a war is going on!
My Gujarati friend always makes one of my favourite snacks called Dokra, which is a steamed spicy kind of cake made with semolina, many kinds of spices, chickpea flour, sour milk...etc...spicy and really delicious!
Our friend whose home was severely damaged visited with her two very special daughters; both came out from Ireland and Scotland for a birthday visit, and of course to brighten up Mom and Dad who likely will sell their home without restoring anything, as the insurance will not cover the cost of rebuilding. They had planned on joining the daughter in Ireland in a couple of years' time, but this will now happen sooner, as they have lost everything in the most terrifying manner during the landslide of the April storms.
The girls brought me the most gorgeous gifts from their newly adopted home countries.
It looks like the bogeyman has disappeared, so if you bump into him, please let him know he's not welcome here!
Have a wonderful week further friends!

Wow, it sounds like the life-gremlins are really out in force! I hope things improve for you quickly and it all gets sorted STAT! And despite my stomach bug, your food still looks amazing and is getting a hunger reaction from me! First time in almost two weeks that I have had that, so huge compliment!
😠
I had a similar problem over the weekend using the hotel wi-fi - I was barred from many regular sites! Very frustrating, especially when it drags out over a long time.
Glad you got some bookings, some nice food (stir fry looks delicious) and lovely visitors!
