My cooking time 🇹🇭🥩🌶️🧄🫚 : Thai Esan Food - Neam Neur (Sour beef sausage,)
Hello everyone, today I'm going to share a traditional Isaan dish. This was my first time making it. I thought I couldn't cook, but I wanted to. It turned out so good, I wanted to share it with you all because the ingredients and method are so easy. If you're in Thailand, you can easily find it at street food markets. Today's dish is nem nuea. Let's see the raw ingredients and how to make it.
Ingredients
- 250 grams minced beef
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon cooked rice or sticky rice
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon seasoning powder
Method
- Mix the seasonings, seasoning powder, garlic, and rice together.
- Then, knead thoroughly for about 5 minutes to loosen the seasonings. If you don't knead properly, the meat will spoil. If you want to make it quickly, prepare plastic bags. If you're in Thailand, you can use banana leaves, but we didn't have any, so we used plastic bags.
- Make as many pieces as you want. I made 6 pieces with this amount of meat. Wrap them in plastic wrap and use a rubber band to keep the air out.
- When finished, leave them outside at room temperature for 2-3 days to allow the flavor to develop. (If you're not ready to eat, you can refrigerate it.)
- Once it's ready, serve it raw, grilled, or fried.
- Pair it with fresh vegetables, chilies, and ginger for a delicious combination. It's great with rice or as a snack.
And here's my homemade fermented pork sausage, a delicious way to preserve and enhance its appeal. If you'd like to try it, try this recipe. I guarantee it'll be delicious. I hope you enjoy my post. Thank you for following along. Have a great day!
