Celebration of St. Nicholas Day
For two days, my husband and our friends celebrated the name day, St. Nicholas Day.

St. Nicholas Day is a holiday dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patron saint of all sailors, fishermen and travelers. We were celebrating the name day of two friends named Nicholas.
The people who were the name day, chose the place to celebrate the holiday to be in the tourist area of the village of Topolitsa.

That's why we left the big city for the Aytos Balkan over the weekend.
We have visited many chalets in the area, but this one was the first time we stayed there. The rooms were clean and warm, and the hall in which we celebrated was comfortable and cozy.

Many types of fish are prepared for the holiday. The methods of preparation were also different - in a pan, on the grill, in the oven.
Traditionally, carp was prepared in several ways during the holiday. The most interesting was the carp prepared in salt and baked in the oven.

Each of us was engaged in doing something, some with cleaning fish, others with preparing food, arranging tables, carrying firewood.

There was a fireplace outside where the food was prepared on the grill.

Some of our friends chose to spend the night in tents even though the weather was quite rainy and windy most of the time.

Besides fish, there were also lots of salads, pies, red bean cupcakes, and homemade candies.

Of course, we didn't just celebrate during these days. We also went for walks despite the rain, which I'll tell you about soon.

The best part of these celebrations with friends is to prepare everything together, with joint forces, inspiration and fun! 😃👋
That's exactly the best part - being together 😍👍
Nothing like cooking over an open fire, awesome! Looks like a lot of fun was had :)
