My Husband's birthday 7.2.23

Hello everyone. Hope everyone are doing good. On the 7th February was my husband's birthday.

I found this awesome app on playstore Photo boom. I just edited this one photo to see how it works. It's a great app though.

Let me start with the birthday breakfast.

This week his work hours are scheduled from 10am to 7pm. So then we had the morning together and I spoiled him with breakfast first before work.
We took my son to school first.

Then when we came home I prepared a nice breakfast for my husband. It was not a fancy breakfast, but very special to us. I made chicken sausages and eggs on bread.

That day was a really cold day though and wet so before my husband went to work he said he want vetkoek and soup because it was cold and rainy.

We went and brought ready made dough peas soup mix and went home. When my husband went to work I cleaned up quickly and took the peas add to a jar with water left it aside for about 2 hours.

The meat I used for the soup was stewing Lamb. After two hours I add the meat to a pot with the peas add some water and let it cook until the meat was soft.

When the meat and peas was starting to soften I took an onion chopped it up into pieces.

Next up I took 2 potatoes and a carrot and grated it and add it to the soup mixture.

When the soup was done I took 800ml of water add a packet of white onion soup to it stir it well and add it to the soup.

When the soup was done I turned it off then I started with the fatcake(vetkoek)

I add some flour onto the table and took the dough and made pieces to fry the fatcake(vetkoek) make sure the oil are very hot to fry.

And whala the food was ready to eat when my husband came home from a hard day of work. 😄

My next post I'm going to do about a nice cremora tart.
It was my first time making it so I'm actually proud of myself.
