Yes I agree @anttn
Paris can go over the top when it comes to prices so whenever I am there and need to buy stuff I look for the discount section of the Casino stores or carrefour store plus always on the lookout for any discount coupons or ongoing promotions.
Without them my piggy bank savings and budget travelling would cut short my trips considerably.

Last when I checked the La chapelle area that was the only place I could still buy a pastry in Euro 1 can you imagine that?
Well that was in 2017 and a lot has happened since then so not sure how much the prices have increased for those Euro 1 sweet treats and if they are still selling them there or have shut shop.
Though there were quite a few shops back then.
Though I am not adding the cost of the metro ticket to the price since I happened to be there and the shops proudly displayed these Euro 1 treats displayed in glass display counters facing the road and looked like a bargain in a place like Paris or anywhere else in Western Europe.

Thanks for the update about the Chestnut season so we have a plan and shall implement it when the time comes ;)
Have a great week @anttn

Yes, that in itself has become quite untenable ! That's also why we're looking to move more to the countryside, grow our own vegetables and be more self-sufficient...

If you tell me the name of the shop or the one of the pastry, I could go and check for the actual price :)

Have a good weekend ✌️

Dear @anttn
I wish I had the name of the shop maybe I have a receipt or a pic would need to check however I can tell you the location.
I came out of Gare Du nord station and walked towards La Chapelle
Stopped at Krishna Bhawan Restaurant for lunch and when I came out moved on the main street towards the left side not towards Gare Du nord and there were a couple of shops managed by Sri lankan people. I picked the pastries from one of those shops.

Its funny how the memory of the place is quite vivid and still I did not pay attention to the name, Perhaps I was feeling lazy after a full stomach.

If you tell me the name of the shop or the one of the pastry, I could go and check for the actual price :)

That is so sweet of you to offer to do that but please do not take so much trouble to go there to investigate.

Interacting with you makes me relive the memories and through your pics I get to see a city that is so hard not to fall in love with over and over again.
Take care Dear @anttn
