Ikki is so big and beautiful, and his fur is spectacular, he really looks like a miniature panther. I'll share something that caught my attention, those cheeks in male cats are pads that the body makes to protect the face in male fights, precisely its size is so because they are a manifestation that the cat is already in reproductive age, it is pure testosterone. I have cats that I sterilized early and they didn't have those cheeks, but my Kamui, who is very similar to Ikki, is 2 years old and I haven't sterilized him yet and his face has changed a lot, just like your cat.

I didn't know that fact about cats' cheeks 😯, and I thought it was simply the accumulated fat left over after losing weight (because when we lived together, he was much "fuller" 😅), but after reading the information you shared, I agree with you. Since he still produces testosterone, it makes sense. My sister's cat, who is neutered, does have a belly, but his cheeks are super thin 🙃 But hey... I like to squeeze Ikki's cheeks a little when I pet him, because I think it's part of his "cat beauty" 🤣
