Two weeks have passed since the powerful earthquake that shook several regions of Venezuela, leaving many buildings collapsed and people dead. I was fortunate; I didn't lose family or friends, nor my home, and that's why I've spent these days thinking a lot about the value of the people close to me and the everyday moments.

Han pasado dos semanas desde el fuerte terremoto que sacudió varias regiones de Venezuela y dejó muchos derrumbes y fallecidos. Fui afortunada, no perdí familiares ni amigos y tampoco mi casa, y por eso en estos días he pensado mucho en el valor de las personas que tengo cerca y también en los momentos cotidianos.

The earthquake didn't just shake our homes and our bodies, it shook up our daily lives as well. Little by little, the fear is subsiding, it's true, but experiences like this serve as a warning: life is fleeting, so what things do we value?

El sismo no sólo sacudió nuestras casas y cuerpos, hizo lo mismo con nuestra cotidianidad. Poco a poco el temor va disminuyendo, es verdad, pero experiencias como esta son una alerta: la vida es efímera, ¿a qué cosas le damos importancia?
