Raindrop Cake @ Concubine Lane
I have been aware of the existence of Raindrop Cake for a few years now. The Raindrop Cake gained popularity in Malaysia after a video about it goes viral on TikTok.
What I know about Raindrop Cake is it is a dessert made from water and agar that is molded to look like a raindrop. The Raindrop Cake originated from Japan and later gained attention in countries such as Malaysia.
The photograph of this particular Raindrop Cake was taken at Concubine Lane in Ipoh. The Raindrop Cake was priced at MYR 5 (about 1.5 USD). After tasting it for the first time, this is what I felt about Raindrop Cake's taste, the Raindrop Cake by itself does not have any flavor. What gave it its flavor is the toppings.
There are two toppings. One is powdered peanuts mixed with sugar, and the other topping is brown sugar syrup. I have tried it once and found it does not suit my taste bud. I probably will not try it again.
