Triumphant
I don't know what it is about animals, something that quite effortlessly pulls me towards them.
I feel like I have more love for animals than my own species. Maybe I'm just tired of humans, and them always putting up a front. It's a "fake" world there and on the screens too.
I like people who don't play games, they say it as it as and are precise. That's one serious trait that I respect and believe in. The ones who are straight forward are called rude and "uncivil", just because the "people" and our "communities" are so used to everything being sugar-coated.
Animals are poles apart, they are simple and just don't know how to fake it. Give them something to eat, pet them once or twice, take care of them for a while, and they'll remember you for as long as they're alive.
I've always been a "dog person" but I sure as hell did have a soft corner for cats too.
I still remember when I was about 9 or 10 years old, and I could hear some newborn kittens from a distance in some nearby bushes. I called my younger brother and instantly went downstairs to find them, and we found out that one of them was dead, probably from an attack, because there were some wounds on the body. Two of them were alive and were crying for their mother.
I went back up and brought back a small cup of milk, but they were too little to eat or drink by themselves. Then I decided to take them both back upstairs, so that they would be safe, but my parents wouldn't let me keep them there for long.
So after cleaning them up and a few failed attempts of trying to feed them, I took them back downstairs. I was running from street to street, corner to corner, looking for people who would be willing to take care of them. Finally a security guard agreed to take care of them, until they were old enough.
And that's all I remember really, that was probably the last time I saw them. To to this day, that memory and those images in my head are all still as sharp and clear.
I don't know if I was a failure or a success on that day with those two little kittens. But a part of me triumphantly tells me now, that I have succeeded, especially when I look at this little fella right here.
This is Billu, we really couldn't figure out a name for her, and everyone would call her saying "Billu" so we decided to stick with it.
Little Billu was a stray, who was found in Khulna. We got to know about her on a Facebook post. A guy had found her and couldn't really take care of her, so he was looking for someone who was willing to take her in.
Luckily, my wife always wanted a cat, she has been around all types of animals and knows how to take care of them. She told me about the Facebook post and was thinking about adopting Billu. She was a bit hesitant at first, but after a few conversations I managed to break through, and she agreed on taking Billu in.
Billu was a tiny little kitten back then, now she's all grown up and the mother of two little healthy kittens.
I remember when I saw the first video of her playing around, I could tell that she'd be a pain the ass haha. But I knew my wife would take good care of her and that's all that mattered.
Yes, at first they both didn't get along much. It took quite a few months for them to trust each other. But I told my wife to be patient, and to give this little relationship a little more time.
Now, after almost 6 months, they both are just inseparable. At present time the whole house can't get enough of Billu's "meows" haha. Billu is nothing less than family and she is loved by every single family member.
My wife and Billu are the "bestest" of friends now, but Billu and I still have to put in a bit more time and effort to actually become friends. She's actually not that easy to impress, just petting her and feeding her a few times won't do the trick. Can't really blame myself though, I've only met her once and managed to spend a few days with her.
So, with a bit more time, love and affection, I'm hoping that she will let me through.
If you've made it this far, then I must thank you for sticking with me till the end.
Much love you all. ♥️
Cheers 🥃
Eee you have a cat too!!!
Billu is so pretty! Wish I could pet her a little.. They work as a stress reliever don't they?
Cats, dogs, birds, we got it all haha.
YESS MAMM. What I love most is their never-ending curiosity.
তোমার বাসা কাছে থাকলে আমার দস্যুকে নিয়ে হামলা দিতাম :)
You guys are welcome any time. ♥️
