A Saturday Well-Spent: Planting and Picking in the Countryside

This Saturday, we got lucky with great weather, so we decided to spend the day outside, working with our plants.

Ready to Go - First thing, we pulled on our rubber boots, getting ready to step into the garden

Our Onion Update - We checked out the onions we planted before winter. They’ve grown a lot, and it felt awesome to see them green and ready

Clearing the Ground - Next up, we needed to get rid of weeds. It’s hard work, but it’s gotta be done to make room for new plants

Making Rows - After the weeding, we made long, shallow lines in the soil. That’s where the new onions will grow

Planting Time - Then, we got to planting. We took tiny onions and popped them into the ground, one by one, covering them with dirt afterwards

Dirty Boots - Our boots got totally muddy, but that’s just part of the fun when you’re out in the fields

Fresh Picks - To finish off, we picked some of the green onions we planted last fall. We used them to make a super fresh salad with tomatoes, green garlic, parsley, red peppers, radishes, a splash of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and a dash of vinegar. It was the best end to our day

Every picture tells the story of our day (all snapped on my OnePlus9). It's about getting your hands dirty, enjoying what you grow, and eating something fresh and tasty at the end of the day.

That's what we did this Saturday. Just a simple day outside, but totally worth it.
