Libertarians would have more of a shot if everyone didn't take that attitude. If you don't vote for the people you want, you'll never get the people you want.

We have reached this cliff incrementally, and must move back the same way, to avoid falling off! A protest vote for a Libertarian that has no real chance of winning, is a luxury we can't take right now. I'm closer to the Libertarian viewpoint than the GOP, but using them to move away from fatal policies will buy time; and right now that is the safest step back to sanity.
Sadly, it is a long trip back from liberal communism, to freedom and Laissez-faire!

That is a very good point, sadly enough, there aren't many local Libertarians running for office. Marco Rubio (Republican), here in the State of Florida, is doing a good job, so I'll vote for him for reelection. Yet, in my federal house district, there are no Libertarians running for office.
As for local/state candidates, there may be a few but they almost NEVER run in Orlando, or in my state house district and state senate. I'll have to look more into it. It's a special year considering our district maps have changed due to the census.
