Culinary Prague - The best places to eat (ENG/GER)

a few weeks ago I traveled to beautiful Prague together with my friend @melonqueen and discovered many great places.

Besides sightseeing and relaxing, I'm also a big food lover and like to try as many things as possible on vacation.
During our trip, we were particularly lucky that a good friend of mine has lived in Prague for over 10 years. He gave us lots of tips about the sights and also recommended some special restaurants.

I would like to briefly introduce these to you in this article. You can look forward to a few little insider tips!

2002 Beer & Kitchen

On the first evening, we went to the great restaurant 2002 Beer & Kitchen. As you can imagine from the name, this restaurant has an incredibly long beer list. Fittingly, it has tables with their own taps in case guests are particularly thirsty and order their own keg.

At the restaurant, I opted for ribs. It's not really a local dish, but they looked so incredibly good at the next table that I couldn't resist.

My friend was much more local and ordered a meat skewer. This consisted of peppers, onions and pork wrapped in ham. It came with a very tasty sauce.

I satisfied my spirit of discovery with two things in this restaurant. Firstly, I got some of my friend's meat skewer and secondly, I ordered the beer tasting.

I was allowed to try six 0.2 beers and the variety of flavors ranged from sweet to much too tart.

Red Stag

On the second day we went to Red Stag for lunch. This restaurant is so incredibly popular that it is fully booked almost every evening, even during the week, and reservations are essential.

I can only recommend that you don't let the effort put you off, it's worth it.

We started with a starter consisting of beef tartare and duck paste. This was rounded off with radishes, toasted bread and bread with herbs.

Unfortunately, we had a slight communication problem with the waitress during the main course. We actually wanted the Czech venison twice. We got two plates and one of the venison.
However, as we were already full from the starter and had reserved the next table in the evening, this was not a problem.

Hostinec na Vytoni

Let's move on to one of our absolute favorites: the Hostinec na Vytoni restaurant. As soon as we entered, we noticed that all the guests were locals enjoying the evening.

I'm also incredibly annoyed that I didn't take any pictures of the food here.

That's why I will recommend it to you as it was recommended to me.

"You absolutely have to go there and try the duck."

After my vacation, I passed the tip on to a couple I know and they were also impressed. Let us surprise you!

Restaurant zur Müllerin

Let's move straight on to the second little insider tip: the Restaurant zur Müllerin. It is located near the palace and is ideal for a lunch after the tour. At least that's what we did.

The restaurant is not easy for tourists to find, as the narrow alley does not suggest that there are two restaurants there. Walk quietly past the bakery and you will find the restaurant at the end of a small courtyard.

The restaurant is known for brewing its own beer and serving great goulash.

Restaurant Zlateho Hada

Let's move on to the last tip of today's post. The Zlateho Hada restaurant serves incredibly good meat dishes. However, it is famous for its knuckle of pork.

As a really good eater, I barely finished the portion. The taste and preparation was an absolute feast throughout. I can only recommend that you make a reservation for this restaurant too. It is located right at the entrance to the Old Town and is within walking distance of Charles Bridge. You can combine both wonderfully with a walk.

Now it's your turn. Which of the dishes did you like best? For me personally, it was definitely the duck, which was just ahead of the knuckle of pork.

vor einigen Wochen habe ich zusammen mit meiner Freundin @melonqueen das wunderschöne Prag bereist und viele tolle Orte entdeckt.

Neben Sehenswürdigkeiten und Erholung bin ich auch ein großer Essensliebhaber und probiere im Urlaub gerne so viele Dinge wie möglich.
Bei der Reise hatten wir das besondere Glück, dass ein guter Bekannter von mir Seit über 10 Jahren in Prag lebt. Dieser hat uns zum einen viele Tipps zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten gegeben, aber auch besondere Restaurants empfohlen.

Diese möchte ich Euch in diesem Beitrag kurz vorstellen. Ihr könnt Euch auf ein paar kleine Geheimtipps freuen!

2002 Beer & Kitchen

Am ersten Abend sind wir in das tolle Lokal 2002 Beer & Kitchen gegangen. Wie Ihr Euch beim Namen schon denken könnt, hat dieses Restaurant eine unglaublich lange Bierkarte. Passend dazu bietet es Tische mit eigener Zapfanlage, falls die Gäste besonders großen Durst haben und ein eigenes Bierfass bestellen.

In dem Restaurant habe ich mich für Rippchen entschieden. Das ist zwar kein wirklich einheimisches Gericht, allerdings sahen diese am Nachbartisch so unglaublich gut aus, dass ich nicht widerstehen konnte.

Meine Freundin war an der Stelle schon wesentlich einheimischer unterwegs und bestellte einen Fleischspieß. Dieser setze sich aus Paprika, Zwiebeln und Schweinefleisch umwickelt mit Schinken zusammen. Dazu gab es eine sehr leckere Soße.

Meinen Entdeckergeist habe ich in diesem Restaurant mit zwei Dingen gestillt. Zum einen habe ich einiges vom Fleischspieß meiner Freundin abbekommen, zum anderen habe ich das Beertasting bestellt.

Sechs 0,2 Biere durfte ich probieren und die Geschmacksvielfalt ging von süß bis viel zu Herb.

Red Stag

Am zweiten Tag sind wir Mittags im Red Stag gewesen. Dieses Restaurant ist so unglaublich beliebt, dass es sogar in der Woche fast jeden Abend ausgebucht ist und eine Reservierung zwingend erforderlich ist.

Ich kann Euch nur empfehlen, lasst Euch von dem Aufwand nicht abschrecken, es lohnt sich.

Wir sind dort mit einer Vorspeise gestartet, welche sich aus Rindertatar und Entenpaste zusammensetzte. Abgerundet wurde diese mit Radieschen, getoastem Brot und Brot mit Kräutern.

Beim Hauptgang hatten wir leider ein kleines Verständigungsproblem mit der Bedienung. Eigentlich wollten wir zwei mal den tschechischen Hirsch. Bekommen haben wir zwei Teller und einmal den Hirsch.
Da wir von der Vorspeise jedoch schon gut gesättigt waren und abends den nächsten Tisch reserviert hatten, war dies aber kein Problem.

Hostinec na Vytoni

Kommen wir zu einem unser absoluten Favoriten: dem Restaurant Hostinec na Vytoni. Schon beim betreten ist uns aufgefallen, dass alle Gäste aus Einheimischen bestanden, welche ausgelassen den Feierabend genossen.

Ebenfalls ärgere ich mich unglaublich, dass ich hier von dem Essen keine Bilder gemacht habe.

Darum werde ich es Euch so empfehlen, wie es mir empfohlen wurde.

"Ihr müsst dort unbedingt hin und die Ente probieren."

Ich habe nach meinem Urlaub den Tipp bereits an ein befreundetes Pärchen weitergegeben und auch die waren begeistert. Lasst Euch überraschen!

Restaurant zur Müllerin

Kommen wir direkt zum zweiten kleinen Geheimtipp: dem Restaurant zur Müllerin. Es liegt in der Nähe des Palastes und bietet sich ideal für einen Mittagsessen nach der Besichtigung dort an. Zumindest haben wir es dafür genutzt.

Das Restaurant ist für Touristen gar nicht einfach zu finden, da die enge Gasse nicht vermuten lässt, dass dort zwei Restaurants existieren. Geht als ruhig an der Bäckerei vorbei und dann findet Ihr am Ende eines kleinen Innenhofs das Restaurant.

Das Restaurant ist dafür bekannt sein eigenes Bier zu brauen und tolles Gulasch anzubieten.

Restaurant Zlateho Hada

Kommen wir zum letzten Tipp des heutigen Beitrags. Im Restaurant Zlateho Hada bekommt Ihr unglaublich gute Fleischgerichte. Bekannt ist es allerdings für seine Haxe.

Als wirklich sehr guter Esser habe ich die Portion kaum geschafft. Der Geschmack und die Zubereitung war dabei durchweg ein absolutes Fest. Auch bei diesem Restaurant kann ich Euch nur empfehlen, unbedingt zu reservieren. Es liegt direkt am Eingang der Altstadt und ist fußläufig zur Karlsbrücke. Beides könnt Ihr wunderbar mit einem Spaziergang verbinden.

Jetzt seid Ihr dran. Welches der Gerichte hat Euch am besten gefallen? Bei mir persönlich war es ganz klar die Ente, welche knapp vor der Haxe lag.
