RE: Istanbul, secretly run by cats?

Catlightful! How interesting the way cats are treated there. I love all your photos and descriptions. I'm cat biased, so there is that.
From what I'm aware, cats are guardians of the gates of the underworld. There is a reverance towards cats in that perspective. I'm not sure if that's the situation in Istanbul. Wonderful way of being towards cats though. I noticed in the photo showing the feeding station, there's an image of what looks like a cat and a dog. I wonder if dogs are also cared for in the same manner there.
Cats always let you know you're the one being tolerated. 😂

Hmm that is interesting, I didn't know that bout the guardians of the underworld. Though I feel like it would probably be an explanation that cats are playing a role in stories/mythology/religion. I just don't know which story it is around here, giving the cats all that space and respect...
Dogs are different indeed!! In Istanbul I saw maybe three, meanwhile outside there was much more and they where still looked after a bit but not as much as cats. Most of them do have tags in the ear though, to my surprise, so there seems to be quite a thing going on around stray animals in general here..
😂😂 Indeed!!
I think there are probably multiple reasons for the cats and the way they are treated. I'm still feeling fascinated by this. Seems there's a very different attitude animals, one that I like.
😂
Yes!! It is similar actually towards humans, or at least how I experience, as someone traveling through/by, I also get feed and welcomed very warmly😁
I like that. 😂
