Today I'm traveling to another city to find a restaurant to eat at...Laksa Sayang.

Laksa Sayang. This is a newly opened restaurant in a recently built economic soi (lane). Many shops in the area are still unfurnished, and some have only recently been set up, including this one... I travel to work with my husband and bring our children along because it's school holidays. After work, we go looking for a restaurant to eat at in this city. We usually search online to see which restaurants are popular, but we didn't use that today because we saw this newly opened restaurant with such tempting-looking dishes. So, we decided to take a chance and see if we could enjoy a delicious meal here.

My eldest daughter chose the crispy fried seafood noodles, which is very similar to a Thai dish called Rad Na. It was served in a large bowl, and the children found it delicious with a mild, not overly spicy flavor, finishing the entire bowl.

This bowl is dry vermicelli noodles with minced pork, fish cake, and homemade fish balls, served with broth. My husband ate this one, and he said the taste was okay, but not amazing. Which is good, at least it's edible food, or rather, another restaurant where the menu item wasn't to his liking.

This bowl is a simple clear broth noodle soup, very similar to Thai noodles, but the broth is a bit mild and not very rich. However, I must admit the homemade fish balls were quite delicious, and it also came with fish cakes and fried wontons. Honestly, the reason I decided to eat at this restaurant was because of this noodle soup; I thought the flavor would be suitable for Thai food, and I wasn't too disappointed because I finished the whole bowl!

My youngest daughter ate the Nasi Lemak, but she only managed a few bites... I ended up finishing it all and shared my noodles with her as well. The meal was okay, not outstanding, but edible. The restaurant was clean inside, and quite cool inside, which was great considering how hot it was outside. If I were to rate it out of 10, I'd give it a passing grade. However, I thought the drinks weren't very strong. Some of the drinks, especially the milk tea, need improvement. Overall, today was a pretty good experience for my family and me eating out. Afterwards, we drove the kids around until it was time to head home. It was a great way to spend the kids' school break.
