A new day begins with light activities and food while my mother-in-law is away.

Hello, my dear friends...

How are you all doing? I've been following the news about current events and around the world, which helps us stay informed and adjust our lives accordingly. While I'm keeping up with the news, my own life continues as usual. Lately, I've been taking care of the housework, cooking, and other chores, which are all handled by me now that my mother-in-law is away. These days, home is quite quiet...a home without a mother, the leader and emotional anchor for her children, becomes so much quieter. Waking up this morning, everything was so quiet and lonely. I miss the one who's gone. But life must go on. I'll start by finding something to eat before doing the housework.

My breakfast today was a small bowl of sweetened red bean soup with fried dough sticks. It's a simple meal that's filling and keeps me from getting hungry quickly. The sweetened red bean soup isn't overly sweet; the sugar is just enough to balance the flavors.

Later in the morning, I went outside to admire the flowers. Every part and every corner of the house reminds me of those who have passed away... The beginning of all the plants and flowers in this house was started by my mother-in-law. Nowadays, we simply maintain and preserve them.

Some plants become herbs on their own...when my mother was alive, we could use them in cooking and eating. But after she passed away, I don't know how to prepare or eat them anymore because I wasn't very interested; I usually just bought vegetables at the market. Taking care of those who are still with you is better than regretting it later when they're gone.

Evening food: Stir-fried okra with steamed oyster sauce. With fried potatoes cut into cubes, prepared to stir fry with minced pork. These are simple meals we cook every day, just two or three dishes. The taste of my cooking is quite different from my mother-in-law's; everyone in the house may need to adjust and accept the taste of my food.

Steamed fish with soy sauce...this dish is for my father-in-law to eat. Easy to digest menu for after surgery.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to read this article. Thank you for your continued support and followings. See you again in the next article. Bye everyone!
