It’s great to hear from you—it’s quite an adventure trying to find vintage beer and ending up with this Tovar gem. I really miss its taste.

There are several regional versions here. You already know Brahma, which used to be sold in Venezuela and is produced here—it’s not bad, but it leaves a terrible aftertaste. Likewise, Skol (yes, like the Viking word for “cheers”) is a very cheap and strong beer; two of them will get you drunk, and it leaves a terrible aftertaste too. Another one is Opa—that’s better; it’s more drinkable. In the end, when I want to have a beer, I buy Budweiser, which I love and doesn’t leave that awful aftertaste, and lately I’ve been drinking only Heineken, which is the best I’ve tried so far. By the way, those last two happen to be the most expensive on the market, coincidentally XD. They aren’t originally from here, but they have the license to produce them using the original recipe.

I can’t promise to write a post about any local beers, but maybe I’ll do it.

Es un gusto leerte, toda una aventura tratar de conseguir la cerveza vintage y terminar consiguiendo esta joya Tovar. Extraño mucho su sabor.

Acá hay varias versiones regionales, ya conoces la Brahma que un tiempo se vendió en Venezuela y es producida acá, no es mala pero deja un ratón de muerte. Así mismo la Skol (si como se dice salud en vikingo), es una ncervza muy barata y fuerte, con dos ya te emborrachas y deja un raton de muerte también. Otra es la Opa, esa esta mejor, es más pasable. Al final, cuando quiero tomar una cervza compro Budweiser que me encanta y no me deja ratón y últimamente he estado tomando solo Heineken que es la mejor que he probado hasta ahora, por cierto esas dos últimas son las más costosas del mercado casualmente XD. No son otiginarias de acá pero tienen la licencia para producirlas con la receta original.

No prometo hacer un post sobre alguna cerveza propia de acá, pero tal vez lo haga.
