A Wonderful Time Together with God's Wonderful People
"I love the thrill that I feel when I get together with God's wonderful people",
from the lyrics of "God's Wonderful People" by Heritage Singers.
It was a Saturday on this last December 2022 after the Children's Feeding Ministry was just finished that we went together to the house of one of our brethren to have lunch. It's been a long time since we had this kind of fellowship a sort of Church Family bonding. And the happiness and experiences have made our friendship and closeness as brothers and sisters in faith even stronger.
Sister Lora adding the sliced green papaya to the pan for the "Tinulang Manok". At her back was Brother Ronron helping her.
When we arrived at Sister Lora's house, she was still preparing the food with others who also helped. They were cooking "Tinulang Manok" (with Lemongrass, green papaya, and Moringa leaves) and "Humba". We were so excited to eat because the smell of the "Tinulang Manok" was so very tempting that it made us more hungry..haha. To divert our minds from hunger while waiting for food, each of us has our way.
The Married Ladies
While waiting, the ladies have their chit-chat with each other. It was a valuable time for us since as wives almost all our time was spent taking care of our family and doing household chores. We seldom have this moment when we can have free time to have each other sharing ideas, talk about funny moments, laugh out loud together, and tell our life experiences.
The Kids
The kids had their businesses also. My daughter brought these little cards with pictures on them. I don't know what's the name of the game, but, Jewel, Janneah, and their friend Seriah were so busy playing with it.
The Young Men
Five meters from the house was an improvised basketball ring. Our young men had the chance to play their favorite game, basketball. I guessed they were not hungry because they still have the energy to play. Here in the Philippines, no matter how small the area we had, we still find ways to spare a little space to play basketball.
The Young Ladies
The young lady at the center was holding the "Paho" she ate.
The young ladies on the other side saw a Paho mango tree (Mangifera altissima), a species of mango that is native to our country, with so many fruits on it, and were not able to resist eating the mouth-watering fruit. One of them was able to climb and harvested the fruits so I was not able to take pictures because I was also busy eating mango, sorry 😁.
Where were the others? My sister-in-law, my husband, and some of our brethren have chosen their place, under the "Dakit" tree, where they can relax and feel the fresh air. It is a very nice place to unwind and rest. Away from pollution, no sound of vehicles, and chaos. All you can hear was the whistling of the breeze and the sounds of the birds. The Lunch The basketball game had to stop when the food was all ready to serve because the space where they played was the place where we were to eat. I bet they're okay with it because they felt hungry this time. This was what we were waiting for, lunchtime. You can see the "Humba" on the small bowls, the "Tinulang Manok", Rice, and the very cold iced tea in the pitchers and bottles. Mmmmmm...looks yummy. Attack of the hungryians..😂 It was very obvious that all of us were hungry since no one waited to be called but immediately attacked the food..haha. Fellowshipping with family and friends through eating is the best. Afterlunch After we were full, we then went to our places to relax again and feel the cool breeze. The married men had their time while looking at the nice view from afar. We want to stay longer but we still have many things to do at the Church. We have to prepare for the Sunday service. We are looking forward to having this kind of fellowship again this January if God will permit it. Time spent with family and friends are time worth keeping and remembering. Let us value the people around us while we can because the time will come when all we can have, are memories with them. That was all for this blog. Thank you for the time and visit. See you all on my next blog. With love, mommyjane 😘.
Some of the married ladies also ate the "Paho".
The hot soup of the "Tinulang Manok" and hot cooked rice.
Almost done setting all the food on the table.
Opppss..hold on. We have to pray before we will eat.
Blessing the food by Pastor Jacob.
I like the taste of the native chicken more than those that are not.
A picture of God's wonderful works.

One of the things I will never run out form is having to meet family and friends. They are the best in making us happy. For children, my love for them is unmeasurable.
