Una torta con mirada / A cake with a look

En la mesa de la cocina,
una torta había,
tenía una mirada bonita
y muchas migajas a la vista.

A veces se separa,
en dos partes igualitarias,
una se duerme cuando esto pasó,
la otra la mira sin entender que pasa.

On the kitchen table,
there was a cake,
it had a pretty look
and many crumbs in sight.

Sometimes it was separated
into two equal parts,
one falls asleep when this happened,
the other looks at her without understanding what's going on.

Siempre se reúnen de nuevo,
para tener los ojos en el mismo cuerpo
se acoplan perfecto,
como si no existirá fraccionamiento.

Son almas gemelas,
trozos de torta idénticas,
son de agradable apariencia,
pero piensan que están incompletas.

They always meet again,
to have eyes in the same body
they fit together perfectly,
as if there will be no fractionation.

They are soul mates,
identical pieces of cake,
they are of pleasant appearance,
but they think they are incomplete.

Siempre las cosas tienen solución
y un cuchillo entra con invitación,
corta un trozo de masa con precaución
y deja ver un claro color

Es la sonrisa de la torta,
guardada entre la masa esponjosa,
ahora las mitades no se separan,
porque las une una sonrisa magna.

Things always have a solution
and a knife comes in with an invitation,
cuts a piece of dough with caution
and reveals a clear color

It is the smile of the cake,
tucked into the spongy dough,
now the halves do not separate,
because they are united by a big smile.

Y es que las tortas con tierna mirada,
llevan secretos que agradan,
entre sus masas blandas.

And it is that the cakes with a tender look,
carry secrets that please,
among their soft doughs.
