Una papa que regresó a la tierra / A potato returning to the soil

Había una papa tirada,
alguien la dejo abandonada,
no estaba lastimada
tampoco había sido pelada.

La tome en mi mano
y en la olla la dejó reservando,
para cocinarla en un rato,
seguro sabrá bien con sal y ajo.

There was a potato lying around,
someone left it abandoned,
it wasn't hurt
it hadn't been peeled either.

I took it in my hand
and left it in the pot,
to cook it in a while,
sure it will taste good with salt and garlic.

A la papa esta idea no le agradó
y en mi ausencia de la olla se marchó,
algo de trabajo le costó,
pero salió sin miedo al exterior.

Caminó por el pavimento,
en busca de un hogar nuevo,
tenía claros sus anhelos
y hacía ellos iba sin detenerse por un momento.

The potato did not like this idea

Yo soy terca y fui por ella,

un tubérculo que no quiere en la olla hervir.
