Una naranja enfadada / An angry orange
Exprimí la naranja,
con fuerza desmesurada
quería una bebida grata,
refrescante y amarillada.
A la naranja esto no le agradó
y en un descuido se levantó
me miró con agitación
y a mí miedo me dio.
I squeezed the orange,
with excessive force,
I wanted a pleasant drink,
refreshing and yellow.
The orange didn't like this,
and in a moment of carelessness, it stood up,
looked at me with agitation,
and I was afraid.
La naranja resentida,
fue a buscar una pajilla,
se tomó toda la bebida
porque pensó que le pertenecía.
Y cuando intento marcharse,
pesaba más que antes,
sus piernas no podían soportarle
y ya no pudo alejarse.
The resentful orange
went to find a straw,
drank all the juice
because it thought it belonged to it.
And when it tried to leave,
it weighed more than before,
its legs couldn't support it,
and it couldn't walk away.
Me dio mucha nostalgia,
ver una naranja tan pesada
y con una cuchara
le hice un masaje con elegancia.
Poco a poco se recuperó
y de nuevo se levantó,
se marchó y no agradeció
pero su mirada cambió.
It made me feel very nostalgic,
seeing such a heavy orange,
and with a spoon
I massaged it elegantly.
Little by little it recovered
and got up again,
it left and didn't say thank you,
but its gaze changed.
Hacer el bien a los demás
y con empatía actuar,
es algo que debemos practicar,
para construir una mejor sociedad.
La naranja jamás agradeció,
pero su furia se marcho
la mirada le cambió
por una llena de ilusión.
Doing good for others
and acting with empathy
is something we must practice
in order to build a better society.
The orange never thanked him,
but its fury disappeared,
and its gaze changed
to one full of hope.
