NGL There's been a few hiccups

We had our first heavy snowfall and the chicken run collapsed. Why the fuck did I think the tarps would be fine?

I had this image that the chicken could enjoy the winter having an area free of snow and ice with the tarp roofs over half the run 🤣 Boy was I wrong!

The collapse destroyed a bunch of the metal frame. My sons are getting very good at fixing the shit that constantly breaks on the farm, so they took the broken parts off, and reattached the main door panel to the now shrunken chicken run.

As usual I've been doing lots of baking

Lemon pound cakes and wild blueberry lemon pound cakes. Made with fresh lemons, buttermilk and Nova Scotia wild blueberries.

Sourdough Bread: Whole wheat, regular and sea salt & olive oil.

Shortbread. Now that we are in December I started using the Christmas cookie cutters.

Hired Help

I don't do much Christmas baking so I hired the lady who does my store's canning to make some treats. She is an excellent baker, especially her cheesecake!

These are mini Oreo cheesecakes with butterscotch drizzle. There is a whole Oreo cookie on the bottom and a chocolate cheesecake layer, and then a vanilla cheesecake layer. Drizzled with butterscotch and topped with Oreo crumbs.

Spritz Cookies. A big favourite in Nova Scotia. Perhaps where you live too.

Last but not least, Gingerbread. The customers can decorate them or have them plain.
