Greetings to everyone in the #HiveGarden community, nice to be with you again.

Today I bring you the story of my "lechosa" plant (Carica papaya), also known in other regions as papaya.

Papaya small.jpg

This plant was a gift from someone who could not have it at home, so he decided to give it to me as a gift. When the plant arrived home, it was half a meter tall, although it was very thin because it had developed between a wall of blocks and rubble.

It had always shown that it wanted to live, so I gave it love and care to make the transplant a success.

In gratitude to my attentions, with irrigation and care, it grew stronger, grew and grew and grew until it became a bush with a thick stem of about 4 meters high, with beautiful foliage of huge leaves like umbrellas and with a production of huge, exquisite and very sweet fruits.

So much so that it gave us to prepare the Sweet papaya with the green fruits and the Christmas fruit salad with the ripe fruits.

In addition, for the last two months our mornings have always been accompanied by a plate of chopped papaya for breakfast or a glass of juice. We have also given its fruits as a gift to our friends.

This beautiful silver has become a blessing to give and bear fruit. There are those who nickname it "the Jurassic plant", for being a mega plant, with its huge leaves and the arms it has unfolded are also loaded with papaya.

It never ceases to amaze us that, despite the drought that reigns these days on the island, the papaya plant continues to produce flowers and show its vitality.

Grateful for this gift that one day was given to me and that has multiplied.

With this story I say goodbye for today, wishing you, who read me, a good harvest!

Papaya big1.jpgPapaya big.jpg

It's the second time in 5 minutes I'm telling someone she's lucky to have these fruits in the garden. Winter makes it impossible to grow them here, so I can only buy them. Maybe one day I'm going to see them grow in their natural habitat. Nice!

Greetings @erikah that is another advantage of living in the tropics, having good weather most of the time. Even though we are currently in drought. Thanks for your comments.

Hello @hindavi thanks for sharing your story! There are no monkeys here, we just have to watch out for the birds that eat the ripe fruits. Greetings from Margarita Island in Venezuela! 🙏🏻🙋🏻‍♀️
