Together with a friend, we have a nice tradition that we have had for about 10 years. Every once in a while we go to eat at a specific place where they serve free pizza.

Junto a un amigo, tenemos una linda tradición que mantenemos hace 10 años, aproximadamente. Cada cierto tiempo vamos a comer a un lugar específico donde sirven pizza libre.

An austere and humble place in our neighborhood. It keeps many memories and stories of our adolescence/youth.
Un lugar austero y humilde de nuestro barrio. Que guarda muchos recuerdos e historias de nuestra adolescencia/juventud.

We arrived quite early (it wasn't completely dark yet) very hungry, ready to drown ourselves in pizza. A waitress offered us a promotion where we had free pizza + free drink + free empanadas + 1 dessert at 7400 Argentine pesos (6 USD, approximately). Obviously, we accepted, as it was a very good price and we both have quite voracious appetites. We were going to take advantage of this offer.

Llegamos bastante temprano (no había anochecido por completo) con mucha hambre, dispuestos a ahogarnos de pizza. Una mesera nos ofrece una promoción donde teníamos pizza libre + bebida libre + empanadas libres + 1 postre a 7400 pesos argentinos (6 USD, aproximadamente). Obviamente, aceptamos, ya que era un muy bien precio y ambos somos de tener un apetito bastante voraz. Íbamos a aprovechar muy bien esa oferta.

We sat down and waited. Since we had arrived so early, we had to wait 10/15 minutes for them to start bringing the pizza (at the beginning there were 4 of us among all the tables). While we were waiting, a waitress brought us our drinks, we ordered a Pepsi to start.

Nos sentamos y esperamos. Como habíamos llegado tan temprano, tuvimos que esperar 10/15 minutos para que empiecen a traer la pizza (al inicio éramos 4 entre todas las mesas). Mientras esperábamos, una mesera nos trajo la bebida, pedimos una Pepsi para empezar.

After a few minutes, the pizza arrived. The good thing about this place is that they offer a wide variety of tastes and flavors. Like, mozzarella, Neapolitan, ham, egg, sausage, spinach with white sauce, roquefort, bolognese, etc. We took advantage and tried to eat a little bit of everything. Although we were left wanting to try some specific tastes that did not appear.

Después de unos minutos, llegó la pizza. Lo bueno del lugar, es que te ofrecen una amplia variedad de gustos y sabores. Como, mozzarella, napolitana, jamón, huevo, salchichas, espinaca con salsa blanca, roquefort, boloñesa, etc. Nosotros aprovechamos y tratamos de comer de todo un poco. Aunque nos quedamos con las ganas de probar algunos gustos específicos que no aparecieron.

I see this and get hungry. / Veo esto y me da hambre.

The service was very good. The waitress was nice and pleasant with us. And the best thing is that, instantly (or before) after finishing the pizza slice, she came to offer more. There was no waiting time.

La atención fue muy buena. La mesera fue simpática y agradable con nosotros. Y lo mejor es que, al instante (o antes) de terminar la porción de pizza, venía a ofrecer más. No había que esperar nada.

Minutes passed like seconds and hours like minutes. Between pizza and pizza, jokes, memories and stories came to the surface. The only bad thing about this moment was that, unfortunately, it was very hot. Since in my country we are experiencing a hellish heat wave. 35° or more. Luckily we had free drinks so we could stay permanently hydrated.

Los minutos pasaron como segundos y las horas como minutos. Entre pizza y pizza, los chistes, los recuerdos y las historias salieron a flote. Lo único malo de este momento es que, lamentablemente, hacía mucho calor. Ya que en mi país estamos viviendo una ola de calor infernal. 35° o más. Por suerte teníamos bebida libre para poder estar hidratados permanentemente.

We looked like two lovers watching pizza. 🤣 / Parecíamos dos enamorados viendo a la pizza. 🤣

As I said before, my friend and I have a big appetite. He ate 7 slices of pizza, plus 7 empanadas and I ate 9 slices of pizza, plus 2 empanadas. To say we were satisfied is an understatement. We were going to burst, but we were happy.

Como dije antes, mi amigo y yo tenemos un gran apetito. Él se comió 7 porciones de pizza, más 7 empanadas y yo me comí 9 porciones de pizza, más 2 empanadas. Decir que estábamos satisfechos es poco. Íbamos a reventar, pero éramos felices.

After waiting a little while for the food to come down, we decided to order dessert. This time it was ice cream. My friend ordered lemon and strawberry and I had chocolate with lemon. I have to be honest, it wasn't the best ice cream I've ever tasted in my life, but it did deliver.

Luego de esperar un poco a que nos baje la comida, nos decidimos a pedir el postre. Que en esta oportunidad fue helado. Mi amigo pidió limón y frutilla y yo chocolate con limón. Tengo que ser honesto, no fue el mejor helado que probé en mi vida, pero sí cumplió.

A very pleasant experience, excellent service, good food and a very enjoyable time. After 2 hours, it was time to pay, thank the food and leave. We had eaten so much that it looked like we were going to roll away, but we were happy.

Una experiencia muy agradable, Un excelente servicio, una buena comida y un momento muy ameno. Luego de 2 horas, tocó pagar, agradecer la comida e irnos. Habíamos comido tanto que parecía que íbamos a salir rodando, pero felices.

That is a nice story of sharing lunch with a friend.

But I want to state: There is no such thing as a Free Pizza. Do you really think that people can just type !PIZZA at the end of a post and PIZZA will magically appear?
