Hello Everyone!

Today is the day Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong) is expected to make landfall in the Philippines. Many cities, especially in the northern part of the country, are already flooded. It’s really sad seeing updates online, knowing that so many people are affected by the heavy rains and strong winds.

Here in our area, we’re lucky that it’s only windy and a little bit rainy. The air feels cooler than usual, and the sky looks gloomy — the kind of weather that makes you crave something hot and comforting.

For dinner, we had nilaga, a warm beef soup with cabbage and vegetables. The moment I tasted it, I thought, “Ah, this is exactly what I needed today.” The warm nilaga soup was just perfect, especially with the cool weather brought by the typhoon.

There’s something about eating a bowl of hot soup while the wind blows outside — it feels like a small comfort that keeps you grounded and grateful. Even though the day feels heavy because of the storm, that simple warmth from home makes everything a little better.
