The White Sand Public Beach in Tagbilaran City, Bohol: Cainggit Beach

Happy Monday Hivers!

While Tagbilaran is a city, one can still find a white sand beach in Tagbilaran. It may not be as beautiful as Alona Beach on Panglao Island, but it is still a fair enough option for enjoying the turquoise, crystal-clear water in the city.

I knew about Cainggit Beach when I was still new in the area. Since I can visit it anytime, as it's just a short ride away from where I stay, I often cancel my plans to visit. However, last weekend, I finally made the trip to the beach.

The turquoise, crystal-clear water welcomed me as I reached the upper part of Cainggit Beach. Although I hadn't reached the beach yet, I could already see people enjoying swimming.

I saw the excitement of a child whom I encountered on my way to the beach. She was screaming to her mom to walk fast as she was eager to dive into the water. No matter how many times her mom told her not to go down the stairs quickly, she didn't listen. I just smiled as I remembered my childhood days. It's really hard to contain our excitement when we were just kids.

As I arrived at the beach, I noticed a group of elderly individuals enjoying their coconut wine. And some were talking and having a good time together.

Cainggit is not just a beach; it's a cove. I was astonished when I saw the rocks with lush vegetation above. Locals simply bring mats or shawls to cover the sand and lay their belongings, including food, under the rocks.

It is relaxing here. Although one would not go swimming, one will just enjoy watching the scenery and enjoying the sea breeze.

As I get older, I don't go to the beach to swim. I don't enjoy it as much this time. Instead, I simply enjoy strolling around the beach, taking in the scenery, feeling the sea breeze, and, above all, experiencing the grounding of being connected with the earth.

However, due to the sharp rocks and seashells on the sand, I never attempted to walk barefoot because I was certain my feet would get wounded. I simply strolled around wearing my slippers. But when I got tired, I took them off and rested my feet for a while, savoring the stunning view of the sea and the clouds.

After indulging in those wonderful sceneries, I walked farther to check out the eateries in the area. I wanted to taste their ceviche, or as we call it in the Philippines, kinilaw, because we have different methods of making it.

After a few minutes, I was able to locate the eateries and ordered ceviche. I found out that we use the same method of making ceviche because we also mix it with coconut milk.

20231021_105618.jpg

This is actually my favorite type of ceviche; it is mixed with coconut milk. Some Filipinos will simply use vinegar, which, in my opinion, is not as delicious. After ordering, I looked for a table that was facing the sea, as it encouraged me to eat more while enjoying this beautiful scenery. Fortunately, there was still one vacant table.

Cainggit Beach is perfect for family and friends to bond. If one is practical, there's no need for a luxury beach resort when making memories with family and friends. Although it's also nice to visit a luxury beach resort, if you're on a tight budget, a beach with such stunning, crystal-clear water like Cainggit Beach is enough. What do you think?

Close to the homestead:

Here's the beach on the keystone lake next to the homestead. I plan to fish from here, maybe all night sometime soon.

Same lake about 30 miles East of that last picture.

It's getting better on the homestead, but the lake is ready now, LOL! I plan to build a fire on the sand with driftwood, to help bring in the fish with the firelight. Then maybe clean and cook some right there...simple pleasures!

👍😁🤠💗🐾🐶🐾💙🎉

@latinowinner, I don't see anything wrong or ugly about this picture. All I see is a wanderer, living her best life, who is exhibiting/sharing her passion for travel where comfort meets nature. Oh well, as they say, "You cannot please everybody" we'll respect you for that if that's what you see in this picture. I just hope that your perspective in life will not be blurred by all the negativities in this world instead of always looking on the brighter side. Nice day ahead! 😊

Very nice mountain view with blue sky and that blue water view. Thank you very much for sharing some wonderful moments which are truly incomparable. Also I wish you the best. Sitting under the blue sky and enjoying some beautiful time seems to be the greatest joy of our life. You have done a great job by presenting this beautiful moment to us. But I have never been to such a place. I was able to enjoy these things by photographing you. Good luck friend
