Myeongdong Street Food Market Snaps!
Corn anyone? This is called ginanggang in our local dialect.
Candied strawberry and some grilled pork meat. This is a hit!
Dakgangjeong: Sweet Crispy Korean Fried Chicken
Gun Goguma: Roasted Sweet Potatoes at the back and some crispy fish thingy here. I am not sure if this was salty.
Shrimp skewers, not sure what they are called by Koreans though.
Cheesy shell! Koreans love cheese!
These are dried octopus! I believe this tastes like Cebu's dried squid which is one of my favorite dried food!
Bungeo-Ppang: Korean Fish Shaped Pastry. This is very tempting.
Of course, Gamja-Hotdog: Korean-style French Fries Corn Dog won't be absent!
Vendors entertaining their customers. There are a lot of opportunities here because of the many people passing by from shopping. It was also cold and wet so most people find comfort in getting their stomachs full!
More skewers. I guess those were like barbecue thingy just like what we have in the Philippines.
Strawberries! These are very expensive back in the Philippines but they are just being sold on the streets in Seoul.
Hotteok: Korean Sweet Pancakes, this is just a guess as the photo looked thick but I can only think of stuffed pancake though.
Tourists and locals alike are all enjoying the food available!
Hot bar is deep-fried fish paste served on a stick or skewer. For more variety in flavors, other ingredients are added, including cheese, rice cake, perilla leaf, chili, seaweed, sausage, or ham.
Red bean cake is also very popular here.
I guess the above is an omelet but it also looks like a pizza. What do you think? After researching it, I found out it is called Pajeon, a variation of Korean pancakes. It consist of wheat and rice flour, eggs, as well as lots of onions.
Another hand-making pancake! We tried this on Nami Island and it was good.
Can you spot the Tteokbokki: Spicy Stir-fried Rice Cakes? Well, it's kind of blurred out at the back. The focus in this photo is the mushroom.
More people, more customers, equals more earnings!
Gyeran-Ppang: Egg Bread, there were layers of egg waiting to be cracked at the back!
Juices are also available of course, this one is Pomegranate!
Stalls are always very informative in Seoul, they put on the name and then the prices as well as the photo of the food they are selling. There's no more questioning as soon as you get to the stall, just give the money, and done!
Sotteok Sotteok: Korean Hotdog and Rice Cake Skewers. Pretty self-explanatory!
Skewers here and there! Smoke was really helpful to keep the vendors and customers warm!
Tteokbokki in the house, there were so many stalls selling them!
Any Korean food lover recognizes these as Mandu. Most of the time, they are stuffed with pork, onions, and kimchi.
Some banana Nutella crepes too for the sweet tooth!
Consumers can opt to eat the ordered food right in front of the stall or have it on the go. Eating while walking isn't a crime so you can go hopping from one stall to another! What's really cool here is that almost everyone who passes by has a cup or a stick in their hands! Just like the lady above.
