Sibling Moments with a Majestic View

Hello Hivers, it’s me again, @jaylasola

My brother and I decided to visit Seargao Seaview Café in Argao. We had heard that the view there was beautiful, but before heading there we made a stop at the Birhen sa Simala (Simala Shrine) to offer prayers. After finishing up there, we drove off toward Argao, planning to find the Seargao Seaview Cafe

When we arrived at Seargao Seaview Café, I was mesmerized almost immediately—even before entering. We were at the entrance around 5:00 PM. Because it was still bright but no longer scorching hot, the air felt just right. You could already tell that the view would be amazing. The café is close to the sea, and there are lots of plants around, giving it a lush, green frame. It sets this calm, seaside vibe. They even have a second floor, an al fresco area, perfect for those who want fresh air and an unobstructed view of the horizon.

After we ordered and ate, we decided to hang out outside. What we didn’t expect was how large and luminous the moon would be that night—it was perfect. The moonlight seemed to dance on the water, and it made the seaside scenery even more magical. They have hammocks (“duyan”) there too, so if you want you can lounge and relax outside, gently rocking and staring at the sea and moon.

We took pictures—of course!—because how could you not? The place begged for photos. We wandered around, taking in every little detail. The garden paths, the sea view decks, the breeze, the sounds of the water. It was peaceful, even as the sky turned darker and the lights of nearby towns started to glow faintly across the water.

After some time we made plans to head home, but we weren’t quite ready to end the night. We messaged my sister, saying, “Let’s meet at Gullas Heights.” That’s our favorite hangout spot. Up there, you get an amazing view overlooking the city—lights all around, twinkling like stars on land. So off we went to Gullas Heights to continue bonding, just enjoying the cool evening air, the view of city lights, and each other’s company.

All in all, this small trip—from Simala to Seargao, then to Gullas Heights—turned out to be more than just a day out. It was like a chain of moments that built up: the sacred peace of Simala, the seaside charm of Seargao with its gardens and moonlit sky, then the high viewpoint of Gullas Heights with city lights stretching out. It made me feel grateful—for simple things like moonlight, fresh air, the sea, laughter. I carried with me that warm, contented feeling well into the night.

And in those quiet moments under moonlight, just laughing and being together with my sibling—I realized these are the times that matter. No fancy plans, just us, the moon, and a bond that warms the heart.

Thank you for taking the time to read. I look forward to seeing you in my next blog.
