Wow... I am sorry to say it is sobering to see everything that has fallen apart in this town because of the government. Here in South Africa we are having rolling power cuts as the government has not planned ahead for the installation of new powerplants and powerlines, and yet the electricity utility is bankrupt. So the money must have "disappeared" over the years somewhere... Will we get worse over here? Will both countries eventually get better? It's a lot harder to rebuild than to destroy but some countries really improved in the last generation or two so I hope we can learn lessons from them...

The truth is that I am not very optimistic about things (here in Venezuela at least) improving in the short or medium term!... We seem to break all the records of corruption here!... But well, we must not let ourselves collapse because of these things, for some reason we have had to face them and we must continue to do our best... That's the attitude!...
