Filming for a Vegetable Trader at Their Company and the Engrosmarkt in Zürich

A behind-the-scenes look at freshness, logistics, and the people who keep Zürich supplied
Last week, we had the opportunity to step into a world most people rarely see up close: the bustling ecosystem behind Zürich’s vegetable supply chain. Our team spent a full day filming for a local vegetable trading company—both at their headquarters and at the iconic Engrosmarkt Zürich, the wholesale market where the city wakes up long before sunrise.
The Day Begins at the Engrosmarkt
When most of Zürich is still asleep, the Engrosmarkt is already in full swing. Forklifts move with precision, traders greet each other with a mixture of efficiency and familiarity, and rows upon rows of fresh produce create an atmosphere that blends agriculture with urban energy.
Capturing this environment on camera is a challenge in the best way. The movement, color, and natural rhythm of the early-morning trade provide an authentic backdrop that can’t be staged. Every shot tells a story—whether it’s a farmer delivering crates straight from the field, or a wholesaler selecting the perfect seasonal greens for their clients.
Meeting the Team Behind the Produce
Our main focus was the vegetable trading company itself—the people who bridge the gap between growers and restaurants, retailers, and consumers across the region.
Filming at their facility gave us a clear picture of the dedication required to maintain quality from farm to customer. From careful sorting and packaging to rapid order processing, efficiency and freshness are the company’s top priorities.

Interviews with staff members added human warmth to the visuals. Their pride in their work, their knowledge of the products, and their daily interactions with farmers and clients came through naturally on camera.
Visual Storytelling in a Dynamic Environment
Filming in such fast-paced locations requires flexibility. Light shifts quickly, trucks arrive and depart, and workers move with intention. But these elements also create authenticity—something you can’t replicate in a controlled studio environment.
We focused on:
wide shots capturing the scale of the market
close-ups of fresh produce to highlight texture and color
action shots of the team at work
candid moments that reflect the company’s culture
The result is a visual narrative that showcases not only what the company does, but why it matters.
Why Stories Like This Are Important
Consumers today are increasingly curious about where their food comes from. They value transparency and authenticity, and video is one of the most powerful ways to communicate that.
By opening their doors to the camera, the vegetable trader demonstrates trust, professionalism, and a strong connection to both growers and customers.
Final Thoughts
Filming at the Engrosmarkt Zürich and the company’s own facilities was a reminder of the invisible choreography behind every carrot, lettuce head, and crate of herbs that reaches a plate. It’s a story of early mornings, hard work, and dedication to quality—one we were proud to document.
