central market at Budapest.
Hello friends, travelers, and community greetings! Hope you all are doing well and having a good time with your dears and nears.
As I said in my previous post last year, we were traveling to Budapest and had seen many different historical and cultural attractions. Different architecture, activity centers, museums, and nature.
One day, we walked all the way to the central market, because due to the heavy flooding on the Donaub, some public transport was temporarily suspended, and we got to the center, but had to walk to the market.
It was quite difficult to find directions; we don't use a GPS app on our mobiles. And very hard to communicate with locals when we don't speak their language. But we managed to get some good help from people to find our way.
We took the bus up to Ferenciek tere, the bus stop in front of the Cinema Mystica. After getting directions from the bus guide, we started walking towards the market hall. We made a short visit to the Franciscan Church. I wrote about it in my previous post. After inquiring about the road to the central market, we got some wrong directions, so we kept walking and exploring the streets of Pest. It was also nice to see that part of town, which was without tourists.
When we saw these shops, we felt that we were in the right direction.
After walking around for 1 hour in an unknown direction, we finally saw the roof of the market.
The building is very beautiful, huge, well organised, with many entrances and open.
As soon as we entered the hall, the first stall or shop we saw was a special Hungarian chili shop, with so many different chilies that it surprised me, as I am Indian and from India, the place was spoiled for chilies. The world said India is a place for chilies, but when I saw that variety of chilies, I was shocked. How many chilies can Hungarians eat?
Varieties of wine, I just took photos, but I don't know anything about them. I don't drink alcohol.
See these berries, wow, the colors and taste are also fresh and delicious.
Different sauces and sausages.
My husband liked this egg seller.
I love those variety of vegetables, fruits, dry fruits, and cheese.
We bought some and they were very good, fresh, and delicious.
Superb bakery items.
After walking, I had some fruits and bread, and we went upstairs where they had restaurants, as well as some souvenir stationery shops.
It looks very delicious, but it's not for us, we are very careful about eating during travel.
I think that to see everything in detail, one day wouldn't be enough for this market hall, but we had many other places to visit and enjoy, so we had to leave. And again, transportation was a problem, and I had no energy to walk again, so we took a taxi back to the hotel and relaxed before we headed to the next attraction.
This is my way to see and learn about new cultures. thank you very much. This is my original content, and all photos are ours, taken by me or my husband, so please do not share any on other platform without my permission. Thank you, take care, see you soon :)
