RE: Time to get wet this Songkran Festival

As someone that lived in Thailand for over a decade I ahve a lot of memories with this holiday. I enjoyed it when I lived down in the south in Krabi, where the lack of population kind of dictates that the water war only goes on for one day but when I moved to Chiang Mai later, they do it for a full week there. This gets very annoying after a while because at some point I have to return to my real life and don't want to be soaking wet all the time. There is a real lack of courtesy with a lot of these people who are near the side of the road ambushing people that don't even want to take part in it. One time I was traveling down the road on my motorbike and had a computer in my bag, told the women I saw there that I had a computer in my bag as I approached and they still threw water at me. This was 3 days after the official celebration day. That made me very angry and in the future I decided to just stay home during that week.

I think that Songkran is fun sure, but the people that are dragging it out for many days are taking it too far.

Hi sir. Yes you're right. Dragging it to a week is too much and miss out the point of it. Going out with bike surely get splashed no matter what. But with normal water still ok. Now they used iced water in order to hype up the fun. Man that's worse.
