Sinful craving of Nasi Lemak at Small Pepper's 24hour foodcourt
The signboard was written in Chinese characters so I tried using Google Translate to translate what it says using the "image translate" option. I was doubtful about the result because the result says "Small Pepper". It's unlikely that a restaurant will be named that way because it doesn't spell something inviting to people.
The rest of the translated Chinese characters were accurate and so I simply accepted it.
At first, I was a bit confused with this food place because it seemed that multiple stalls were packed together but the same set of crew were the ones working for all of the stalls. They only wear different uniforms but they are also helping each other. In the end, I realized that all of the stalls have the same owner, hence each of the staff is involved in every stall there are in this food court.
Before I show the food that I ordered, let me show you what is the available food that they have here.
Here's what I found in the Nasi Lemak and Economic Bee Hoon stall.
From left to right: Luncheon meat, Otah (Malay-style food), Fish cake, Shrimp tempura, Spring rolls, Samosas, and some Chicken cutlets.
This tofu looks delicious but since I'm not a big fan of it then I simply pass.
Deep fried chicken!
The usual deep-fried fishballs, fishcakes, and the others that I'm not familiar with.
And here's a popular Malay-style food that is called Rice Dumplings. It has a filling inside that is wrapped with rice. A traditional meal to-go.
I also noticed that they offer a modern Tze Char style restaurant. And the selections are the fancy ingredients that are showcased in this chiller.
I like seafood but the price tags on these fishes are out of my budget. Some of the fish are priced at S$80 which is something that I wouldn't dare try.
Here's what I got for my lunch. A simple meal but it's a sinful one for my preference. The big piece of chicken caught my eye. The chicken alone already cost me S$4.50 which is considered "ok" for a big piece of meat. And then I ordered "Nasi" (steamed rice with coconut milk) and a stir-fried vegetable. Everything on this plate is delicious however they are all greasy so I'm labeling it as a "sinful" meal.
I think the best part of this experience is the chili paste. No wonder they call their restaurant "Small Pepper" because it's very spicy. Just a few dabs on this paste are more than enough for me to sweat and feel a little sting on my tongue.
They are open for 24 hours so this is a good place to hang out when all of the restaurants have closed down.

The food looks great, and Tofu are so tasty but I have to agree tofu can be bland sometimes. Thank you so much for sharing.
Yes, that’s right. Tofu needs some sauce for it to be tasty.
I like tofu when it’s sliced into thin strips and then deep fried. It goes well with a sweet and sour sauce 😍
Happy to share my every food experience 😅
