Revisited one of my favorite Teochew-style food place

It may be a small city however, the variety and complexity of the dishes is mind-boggling. Singapore has become the melting pot of world cuisines. In my humble opinion, the types of food are more complex than the whole of South-East Asia. Amazingly, people have adapted to this kind of complexity and they have become receptive to other food cultures.

I think this info about the welcoming nature of the city dwellers has encouraged other food cultures to thrive. For me, it's a blessing to be able to experience different kinds of food from other countries. It feels like, I went to a world tour by being able to taste the food from other countries.

One of my favorite spots to go to are Teochew style restaurants because of the variety of good dishes they offer and the affordable prices of it. A few nights back, I went back to a place in Bugis to dine for a late night supper.

It's a Friday night so many of the dishes were replenished. On a night like this, they expect more customers that will dine after their clubbing and hanging out in pubs.

In my case, I log off from work and I was starving. So, I ordered a dish that I'm familiar with while I also order something that I haven't tried before.

One of the nicest ones that I had was this stewed pork. They used lean meat but they cooked it in such a way that it's tender. The sauce taste amazing as well.

The other was a sauteed soft tofu. It's my first time trying it but I already like it so much. It has a nice flavor and the texture is good too.

I consider this kind of restaurant a "food gem" because the taste and flavor suits my preference and most importantly, it's satisfying as well!

It must be quite a gastronomic experience for me, it would be something new to experience, I have not yet left my comfort zone regarding food from other countries. I congratulate you for your adaptability.
