My first time trying a "solo" cake

I have always been curious about tasting the cakes sold in Swee Heng but never really had the motivation to buy one. Last night, my curiosity reached a point where I finally made the decision and got myself a piece of "solo" cake. The flavor that I chose is the Vanilla Chiffon Cream Cheddar cake.

The way it was made looks refined and consistent. I mean the distribution of the grated cheese on top was evenly distributed and there were no blank spots.

I chose this flavor because it looks like this is the least sweet among the cake flavors they have. The cheese flavor has always been my first choice for the same reason. Amazingly, cakes have evolved because of the preferences of the people. I remembered that cakes used to be sweet which is too sweet to the point that it will give me toothache. I guess the sugar that was used before was the granulated ones that are a lot more difficult to dissolve during mixing. With the modern equipment that we have nowadays, the precision of the measurement and the consistency of the mixing process have perfected the consistency that the cake batter and cream filling.

The bakeshop also offers bread and pastries which also look nice. There are holiday goodies that are still being offered today which looks good as well.

I always refrain from buying these holiday goodies in a jar because it's difficult for me to control my snacking habits, lol. I would always try to finish off the whole jar in one sitting :D

My journey to the world of food.
