My craving for a sizzling Saba fish meal was satisfied at Rong Fu food place
I was out of ideas as to what I wanted to have for my dinner and so I browsed through my previous posts to find out what could be a good option for me tonight. I did not want a heavy meal, but I still wanted to have a full meal. So, I decided to go to Rong Fu food place, which is a Japanese and Korean fusion food place. If I remember correctly, I dined in this place about two weeks ago and I was satisfied with my experience of the dish.
On my previous visit, I had the dish with a combined chicken and Saba fish together on a sizzling plate. Although I like both of the dishes, I feel that the Saba is more flavorsome than the chicken. The chicken had a spicy chili paste mixed to it that I didn't want to have for tonight. It may be because I prefer something simple for my dinner that's why I only ordered the Saba fish this time.
As soon as I received my order, I could already tell that the Saba fish was going to be a good one. In comparison to the Saba fish that I had in other places, this one looks so plump. When a Saba fish is this plump, then it means that it's tender and moist. On the other hand, if a Saba fish is long and slender then it will be dry and overcooked.
This one in particular is cooked perfectly well. The flesh is still white and it's oozing; those are the signs of a fish that's cooked in the right way and timing.
The meal is a set of a main dish, which is a Saba fish, and the sides which are kimchi, a bowl of rice, and the bean sprouts that were used as bedding for the fish.
If there's an eating habit that I used to do even when I was young, I try to mix each of the dishes in a single spoonful of bite. I do this to savor the flavor of each ingredient, which I think is working in this kind of particular set of dishes. It works because each of the dishes are complimenting each other. The flavors of each ingredient blend well with each other.
After finishing the meal, I was satisfied with the food but it was not to the point that I was full. I think the serving size is just right for my appetite which is why I made a good decision not to order for the combined dish set.
It looks so delicious. I also really like eating fish like this
Saba fish is nice and I like it :) I think I'm already eating fish almost every other day 😅
Basa fish in my country is always the most commonly raised fish
That looks so good! If only I could eat fish again... The bean sprout looked so good, too... as well as the other side dishes.
I agree with taking a bit of everything and let them complement one another in your mouth. It's midnight now and your photos made me hungry. haha
I'm curious, aren't you allowed anymore?
I feel hungry again after writing my post lol
For some reasons, after I had a surgery more than ten years ago, my body rejects fish. Before that, I was only allergic to other seafood. I used to enjoy eating fish dishes.
Hahaha... understandable 😅😂
I'm sorry to hear that.
I wish you didn't have to go through that. It must have been tough to adjust but it seems you're able to deal with it already. 💪
it looks delicious. Thank you so much for sharing.
It was delicious, I enjoyed it and happy to share to everyone here in Asean Hive :)
Looks delicious! Yes, I think grilled fish and Kimchi make a good match. ;) hope you enjoyed it.
I like Kimchi as it is but I like it even better when paired with savory dishes :) I did enjoy this meal.
