Enjoying a nice chicken curry set at Toast Box

Occasionally, I go to places that are considered as restaurant chains to have a break from the monotony of the types of food that I eat. One of the places that offer good food at a reasonable price is Toast Box. It's a restaurant chain that almost every big shopping mall will have. They also have restaurants in some of the biggest schools in the city. I had the pleasure to dine at one of the branches the other day and I would like to share my experience with it.

The other reason why I go to this specific restaurant is because of the nice ambiance. The design of the interior is a modern aesthetic and the bright lighting makes it conducive for eating.

For this lunch, I ordered the Chicken curry set. It comes with a cup of either cold or hot drinks. I chose the Kopi-C which is a local term for the kind of mix for the coffee. In the coffee, a generous amount of evaporated milk is added and 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar is used as sweetener.

Together with this set is a slice of cake which I can choose from the available selection. I chose the Honey cake.

I'm not a big fan of spicy food. I think that Toast Box has understood that so they set the spice level to an average that even I can tolerate. The curry has a generous amount of coconut milk that was added to it. It's the creamy type of chicken curry.

Whenever I go for a local coffee, I usually go for the Kopi-C version. For me, it has the right amount of sweetness and milk to balance the bitter taste of the coffee. It goes well with toast or in this case, with the Honey cake. It's my first time to have this kind of cake which feels like a cake pudding. It's heavy and it's moist. The sweetness level is just right also.

This set right here is what I can say as a comfort food.
