Rain, Drops, Macro, PDC, Dish Repair, New Batch of Tortillas - Tuesday

Woke up to rain yesetrday morning and it continued to drop cloud tears all day long. It never was a downpour but it was always enough that I really didn't want to go out and fight it to get anything done around the farm. It is 1 day from Winter solstice and I generally don't have much to do this time of year but since this is not pressing I could let the greenhouse finishing go a day.

It was cool standing inside while the rain fell on the new plastic covering the structure. These drops sound different since the plastic is thicker now.

I also realized as I stood in the greenhouse pushing at the inside of the plastic and having a rain fall on me that I am going to want to change the direction of roll for the roll up. The rain ran off the greenhouse and down the side to the rollup which I have rolled to the outside. This makes a long trough for the water to collect in along the rollup. I need to reverse the direction so when I roll the side up I roll it inwards. This will make it so there is no channel to collect water, and weight.

It was rather hard for me to decide on the first test subject for the macro rail. I finally decided on the Bucky cubes. It is a nice geometric shape with a lot of texture and delineations. It took me a couple shots to figure out the right method but I got a dozen good shots.

I tried to use GIMP but it is a gimp so I went to PS and was able to quickly get the images stacked and flattened. I am rather happy with how this came out for the first image stack I have done in a couple years. I'm trying to dial this in now so when it comes to the flowers of spring and summer I will be ready to get some seriously awesome images made.

It was a double session for the PDC and a few surprises happened and then a few givens. MVG blew thru his round. He sounds so much like Andre The Giant it is a bit scary, Andre has been dead for a long time.

Carnival dishware sent us a couple of wrong dishes which ended up breaking in transit. One of them broke cleanly in half and the other into pieces. They are crediting us for them but I figured I would give fixing the one a try.

I mixed the Gorilla Glue epoxy and coated both sides of the break, one side more than the other, then set them together on a piece of plastic on the cold stove. I am leaving it there for the next day or so and hope that it will end up holding okay. Not likely to be used very often but at least it isn't just garbage.

I ate the last tortilla that J made mid day so I had to make another batch. I did my normal double batch and it got divided into 22 balls which then got pressed before tossing on the griddle.

I do 3 at a time for our snack sized and 2 at a time for our meal style.

I use a cup of pea protein powder in place of a cup of flour so it add more nutrition to them. It is really a flat bread over tortilla but they are rather interchangeable in a lot of ways.

I got dinner made after then we all managed to go out and soak.

The boys haven't been out to soak in a long time so this was a rather rare occurrence for us. Though it was a stark reminder of why it is best they aren't in with us often as they want to play and splash like in a pool. Sorry boys, that's not what this is for.

I've hit the point where my HBD interest on the 1st will push me past my goal of 2300 HBD to start the year so I can stuff the extra to my lightning wallet thanks to V4V.app. The trx fee is so minimal compared to standard BTC it's shocking more aren't using lightning.

The rains are done for a bit now so today I will be out finishing the greenhouse's east end. PDC continues today, I will cleanup after myself in and around the greenhouse, till a section since the ground is thawed right now, play with the macro rail a bit, come up with something for dinner, and I'll try to get a couple of my old Block Erupters listed for sale on Nostr.

It is good that you continue your routine of all day and it passes the time very well. Even when it is cold, you are doing all the things.
